This was my second time and boy am I disappointed compared to last time I was here. Only one star this time because the karting is still fun.
First of all, they are in the middle of a construction zone. Would be nice if they notified customers of this beforehand.
Then there were a lot of people, most of whom didn't know where to go. They didn't have any signage. My sister was stopped before the covered walkway by someone who asked to see her confirmation email. Meanwhile, no one stopped me, I just walked on in. It made me think that anyone off the street can just walk in.
Secondly, they don't have any functioning washrooms! Their men's and women's washrooms were both out of order. They only have one replacement outhouse, which I heard was full to the brim. Gross. I'm sure that violates some kind of health code or even may be illegal. My sister had to drive to a neighbouring building so my nephew could use the washroom.
Finally, heading in, we just followed the crowd and went straight to the helmet bins. So anyone could walk in and grab a helmet??? Again following the crowd, we are in line for the chairlift, and still no one has asked for our ticket confirmation. It's not until you're basically at the chairlift they actually have someone checking your tickets.
Anyway, I just found this visit to be very unorganized and stressful. They need more signage inside the premises and out in the parking lot. And they need at least four working toilets for all customers. SMH.
(First review 2021: This was my first time and I enjoyed it! Going up the chairlift and looking at the track from above reminded me of the opening credits of Sesame Street (circa 1980s) LOL. The carts are very basic and small, so I didn't feel very safe. I felt like if I were to bump into something or someone the cart would flip (and I would fall out) quite easily. I made sure to go slow and steady. The track itself is very bumpy. Like more than half the time. Not great. But still fun! Would go again in...
Read moreI had such a great time and it was great fun! Staff was friendly and laid back, their instructions we're simple, clear and to the point so you can get on with the karting fairly quickly. There's one particular employee that stuck out to me, special shout out to Scott, super chill guy and happy to be there, seems like he enjoys people having a good time, solid dude.
I like that there's two lines at the top, one for your first downhill run where you get instructions and the other line that's for all additional runs that's essentially an express line so you don't have to wait for everyone in front of you to be instructed before you can go down again.
They offer photos and videos at the end which can be a fun little reminder but one of the cons is the prices on them do see a little steep however, you can get great value by renting their GoPros that attach to the helmets that they provide which by the way comes in multiple sizes which is nice when you have a large head like mine and for others who bring their small children and everyone in between.
Another small con for me and possibly others is that sometimes people bring their small children who might slow down the flow of traffic but you have to keep in mind that these activities are geared towards a wide age audience that are there to have fun, some are there for the first time. Just slow down and go around safely and it is what it is.
Me and my girlfriend came on a Sunday afternoon and it was surprisingly fluid and not super packed so you can go downhill back to back fairly quickly. Just for reference we got the fall package, with 4 downhill runs and one picture of your choice included. Maybe we got lucky that it wasn't super packed on the weekend or perhaps it's starting to be a bit chillier this time of year and people are out doing other activities. I say take advantage of whatever good weather we have left.
Definitely recommend bringing friends and family, way more fun that way. Shared joy is...
