Busy location but delivered on taste, service, and quality! We added ourselves to the waitlist and the estimated wait time was 20 min. This was on Sunday morning and we decided to go here instead of another popular brunch place due to their extremely high wait time. It took us about 20 min to get to Monki and the estimated wait time was about 1-6 min by the time we arrived. However, the wait time suddenly jumped to 25 min a few min later. We checked in with the hostess and she explained that the application may have glitched out. She was very apologetic and confirmed that we were on the waitlist. Luckily the farmers market is right beside this location so we went to shop there until our table was ready. Our orders were taken promptly after being seated. Service was quick as they had many people to serve and many people waiting for tables. We both ordered the brisket poutines. It took about 20-25 min for our food to come out and when it did, they were the wrong dishes. The waitress thought we said the brisket Bennie’s. The server brought back our dishes and promptly put in our correct orders. This only took about 10 min to get our poutines. The brisket was super flavourful and the potatoes were crispy. Perfect balance of flavours. I’d definitely order this again. Even with a few blips in our service, we still enjoyed our meal at Monki. We will definitely return to try more menu items.

MONKI is beautifully decorated brunch restaurant with a variety of menu options for whatever you are craving. The restaurant is decorated with lots of greenery and modern furniture and gives off a welcoming atmosphere. The staff are very kind, honest, accommodating, and willing to answer any questions you may have. This was my first time at MONKI and unfortunately it was the day they were really short staffed in the kitchen so we had to wait over an hour for our food. The staff tried the best that they could so I appreciate the effort to compensate for the inconvenience. I ordered the Vegan Not-So-Classic Huevos Rancheros with a Just Egg vegan egg and an Avocado. My dish was a bit underwhelming looks wise and I wish they had put in a bit more effort for the presentation but it was very tasty. The ingredients tasted fresh and the food was well-seasoned. My friend had the Brisket Poutine and reported that it was very good and flavourful. Overall, I really enjoyed the atmosphere of the restaurant and I’d like try again sometime in the future.

We were so excited to have one of our favourite brunch places open near us in the burbs! My review reflects my experience at this location, I would give the Beltline location 5 stars on each of my visits! We know how busy this place is and put ourselves on the online wait-list. It showed a 65 minute approximate wait which worked perfectly for us to get ready and drive over. We were shown to our table which was located nicely in the corner. Our waitress brought us menus but quickly took off before getting my coffee order in. We were excited to see some of the featured fall specials to try something new. Unfortunately our waitress didn't return for some time and finally came back to take our drink orders. I mentioned we would like to order our meals as well (we were there for a while already) but she said she "did not want to overwhelm the kitchen" by putting our order in at that time and disappeared again. She came back with drinks and took our orders. My wife had the Pumpkin Spice French Toast And my daughter's also shared the same thing. I ordered the Birria Brisket Tacos but were told they were out. I quickly pivoted to my usual, the Chorizo Breakfast Poutine (would have been nice to know initially as I would have looked at alternatives more). My wife and daughters really enjoyed their french toast, the pumpkin flavour was strong and nicely spiced. I was enjoying my poutine but was surprised how little brisket was on it. The egg was cooked perfectly soft as requested. Near the end of my poutine, I came across a large scoop of brisket in the corner as if they forgot to mix it in. Our waitress hadn't come back and was still waiting for a refill on my coffee. I finally got her attention when at another table and asked for a refill and our bill. The coffee was refilled quite quickly but she didn't come back with the bill/machine for another 15 minutes. Hopefully service improves the longer the restaurant is open but would still drive to their other locations for the time being. Besides the above, she was not very welcoming in general. The restaurant is a nice space with lots of green plants, particularly nice on a snowy day.

My Apple Maps took me to the absolute wrong vacation. But! We finally got to our destination of Monki Bistro. Luckily, I had a spot in line on the app for a reservation. Luckily we got a spot inside where it wasn’t boiling hot. I honestly feel like they need more coverage outside for the staff and the tables. The vibe was an urban plant aesthetic which was cute. Staff could have been more attentive as the restaurant was busy but not full. But on to the food. In order from first photo to last: Braised Brisket Benedict, Brisket Poutine, Brisket Hash and a Matcha Latte. I actually found the matcha latte lacking in matcha flavour. The Braised Brisket Benedict WAS good, but I felt it lacked a lot. Yes all of our dishes had briskets… But I strongly felt they all looked the same and the portions were small. My Brisket Benedict was $22.75 before tax and tip. While my latte was $6.75 before tax and tip. It was very expensive for what you get! Honestly, it wasn’t anything phenomenal. The hash tasted great, I love crispy hash browns.. But when they put it in a bowl it honestly looks stupid. And when I dumped it on my plate, I realized they could have added twice as much hash. My friends and I felt that it wasn’t worth the drive or the price. It was ok. But we wouldn’t return again.

We went for breakfast around 10 am on a Saturday. We got in right away and there were many tables still open at the time. We went a little bit 'adventurous' for our order selection and got the Pancake Breakfast Tacos and the Candied Bacon & Chorizo Breakfast. I enjoyed the Pancake Breakfast Tacos because it was very tasty and filling. Get ready to have your hands messy with delicious sauce - yum! The atmosphere and location was great. As soon as we were seated, we were immediately served with water. Throughout our meal, our server ensured that our coffee cup was topped up. I appreciate the thoughtfulness that the servers have given us. Overall, Monki is a lovely brunch place, and we will be back in the future! It is just right across the Calgary Farmers Market West and there are lots of available parking.

Was pretty excited for our first brunch at monki. The service and waitresses were very nice and attentive and the atmosphere (décor and music) was 10/10. However, I had the pancake tacos and my partner had the brisket poutine. The tacos had plain spinach in them which threw me off, the overall presentation of the food looked sloppy, and just the combination of flavours was strange. A maple/grassy/butter taste and this seasoning mixture they seem to put on absolutely everything, just overpowers the flavour of what you expect. I can't describe what this seasoning is, it's like a cinnamon or nutmeg and cumin maybe? But it was all over my tacos and hash Brown's, and same thing with my gf's brisket poutine. The poutine was so rich. Anyways, would like to try it again some day but maybe just something more simple.
