🌟 Village Square Leisure Centre is a fantastic destination for families looking for a full day of fun! Here’s what makes it a must-visit: 🌊 Amazing Wave Pool: The wave pool is a hit with everyone, offering hours of fun for all ages. 🚀 Exciting Waterslides: There are several waterslides to choose from, including one that takes you on a thrilling ride outside the building—an absolute must-try! 🧗‍♂️ Little Tikes Water Play Structure: Perfect for younger kids who love to climb, explore, and let get wet! 🎨 Beautifuly Painted Murals: The vibrant murals throughout the facility add a fantastic visual touch that enhances the whole experience. 🤿 Diving Boards: A separate pool area features diving boards for those who want to make a splash. 🛁 Relaxing Hot Tub: Unwind in the hot tub while your kids enjoy the pool. 🎟️ Float/Tube Rentals: Affordable float/ tube rentals (single or double) make the wave pool even more enjoyable. 🪑 Comfortable Viewing Area: There’s a designated area with plenty of chairs where you can relax and keep an eye on your kids as they play. The low prices make it accessible, and for the most up-to-date information, you can call ahead or check the City of Calgary website. You can even purchase tickets online and skip the line with their express entry option! 🏊‍♂️ A perfect spot for a fun and affordable family outing!

Is this place a waterpark, art gallery, or a much needed oasis in the cold Calgary winters? It's all three guarenteed. From friendly, helpful staff to the several amenities, a person could find several things they are looking for including adventure. This is exactly what my friend and I were seeking. We came here not for the library but for the waterpark. After we got ready for our swim, we decided to climb the highest tower to ride the thunder. The work of climbing is well rewarded with several twists, turns, tunnels, and the giant splash at the end. We rode this baby at least six times. The other slide however, we rode eight times. It was our favorite because we didn't have to climb so high and it was faster than the other one. We spent hours in that wave pool, we couldn't surf the waves but that wasn't for a lack of trying on one of those floating toys. For the most part we just swam to them and floated along on them. Who could say no to a wild wave ride. A time for rest is at the hot tub. It looks like a maze at first but never-the-less, relaxation is the name of the game. A good place to warm up and chat with some cute guys in swimming trunks at least. For a day out when you are tired of the harsh winters. Village Square Leisure center has what you need. And for only $13.50, why not stay for a while?

Great centre with water splash park complete with water slides and wave pool. Super fun for all ages but super busy during this summers heat wave. There are basketball and badminton courts, jungle gym and registered yoga or martial arts classes at an additional charge. Weight room remains open after the wave pool closes. Check the website for hours of operations. Ladies change rooms was horrendous! On multiple days, there were food wrappers and dirt all over the floor. The bathrooms smelled of urination right on the floor and around the stalls plus nasty smell. I don’t recommend going late. Come early and it’s clean. A staff member cleaned it up after someone brought it to their attention. Parking was packed and stalls were tight. Don’t park here or your car will be scratched or dented. Bring a dollar or loony for the lockers. Returnable after use. Only a handful of lockable lockers with your own lock and it’s only in the Family change room. Update…The staff and weight room were nice and clean. Updated pics of Ladies change room at closing so come early.

They would have gotten a five but today was a bad experience for me and my friends. All the staff there are very nice and helpful to kids to elders. Today around 12:50 or 1pm, East asian cashier at Pre-paid line was quite blunt and impolite to us. Since last year I have been going to play badminton or at the pool I was paying separately while my friends were paying together, He gave us a glare saying “Why did you come together then?” We have always went together even when we are paying separately or together and other staffs have not gave us a mean look or complained. It would have been our fault if we knew that we weren't supposed to do this but still did; but we have done this regularly so we thought it was okay. I showed my Village Square card from a picture, he told me I cant do that and I have to bring my card and show it to the staffs. He willingly still scanned and gave me the wristband. I have always showed my card from my phone and other staffs have never complained or say that I should bring my real card. I was quite unsatisfied and felt insulted because of the staff. I hope other people dont have to encounter staff like this in the future. They would have gotten a five but today was a bad experience for me and my friends. I think the facility is great, the pool is really well maintained, the staff at the front desk are friendly. I however find my latest experience tonight not to be a great experience. There was a burger left on the stairs on the way down, it was there when i arrived and when I left, does nobody bother to check, and/or clean? The men's locker room was absolutely disgusting, there was garbage all over the floor, food and wrappers alike. This doesn't make a good impression entering, I felt dirty. I don't care how busy a pool gets, I've worked at a pool for years and have never allowed this to happen. I also go to Repsol sports centre on a regular basis which is always packed and have never experienced the kind of mess I witnessed here. Its as if nobody bothered to check the locker rooms until the end of the night. The pool was enjoyable, but I found my skin becoming extremely itchy, was the chlorine at the right level? are was it too high? Not enjoyable. The one lifeguard was so whistle happy, every second she was blowing the damn whistle, I understand they have to provide safety but it was just over the top. I usually go to southland Leisure centre and have never heard the whistle as much in the short time i did here. They close off the slides and the deep pool at 9:45, when nobody is even on them, this i find to be a little much. Again at southland they are open till 10. I think if you going to be closing them early you should have the slide hours posted on your website. Also made an announcement that if you take too long to get ready after you should be leaving at 9:45. Again this seems pushy when clearly the pool hours are stated as until 10pm. I have never witnessed security on the pool deck, is this common here? is the pool really that unsafe? Also to have the security guards come into the locker room, standing there staring at everyone changing is very intimidating as if they are trying to make you uncomfortable and push you out of the locker room. The showers are very neglected, the pressure is off, and the water come out all over the place. From the aggressive security guards literally watching you change, to the dirty environment, the pushy attitude to have you leave, overall experience is far from enjoyable. This very well could be my...

While visiting Calgary in July, we were looking for a way to fill an afternoon. We'd been outdoors for the last week, and it was 31°C, so indoor swimming seemed like a good choice. When we arrived, we were only in line for 3-5 minutes, paid our $30ish dollars for a family pass and one tube rental. The locker rooms were spacious and mostly dry (a nice change from many indoor pools). The lockers took a loonie, which you got back after you unlock the locker.

If you rent a tube at the front desk, you have to take the paper receipt on to the pool deck to claim your tube. You also need to shower before entering the pool. Not the best system for renting a tube. Perhaps a plastic chip/coin or something less susceptible to disintegrating would work better?

The pool itself is a good size. It seemed to be pretty congested in the shallow end, but in the deep end we had enough room to swim about and play games. The waves were exciting, and we quite liked that they came from all angles, rather than one big wave from deep end to shallow. The waves lasted about 5 minutes, and ran every 15 or 30 minutes. They give a little announcement two minutes in advance so that weak swimmers can prepare themselves.

There were four or five water slides, and some of them get going pretty quick. I'd definitely suggest goggles for the slides, we found it hard to maintain our bearings with our eyes closed as we sloshed around in the slides.

There's also a dive tank with a high ledge (closed when we were there) and a diving board, as well as a kid's play area. The play area was sort of a mix between a jungle gym and a splash park, with a few water slides in the mix. My son (12 years old) was one of the oldest in there, but he had a blast.

There was also a hot tub which was nearly but not quite full of people all the time.

Altogether we spent 3.5 hours here, and that was a little long. Us parents were getting a little tired after swimming about in the waves over and over.

I don't know that I would make a special trip to Calgary to go here, but I wouldn't hesitate to add it to an...
