A B King Pizza — Restaurant in Calgary

I’ve been a loyal customer here for over 15 years, and I’ve always appreciated the quality of the food and the fact that it’s a thriving local business. Last night, however, my experience left me disappointed and reconsidering whether I’ll return.

It was a busy Thursday night, which I completely understood and had no issue with — in fact, it’s great to see a local place doing well! I even paid in advance, in cash, to help speed things up. I was told they didn’t have the exact change, which was only a dime short — not a big deal, but still a bit odd.

I had also requested for my pizza to be cut into squares, but that detail was missed. When I asked about it, the only explanation given was that they were busy. I get that things can be hectic, but a simple acknowledgment or apology would have gone a long way.

The pizza itself was delicious, cooked perfectly as always. Unfortunately, what really stood out — and not in a good way — was watching the person handling orders also prepare food without washing his hands or using gloves. He was taking payments, answering the phone, and then immediately going back to making pizzas, all without any sanitation in between. At one point, he wiped his hands on the back of his shirt before continuing to prep food. That’s just not acceptable, especially when handling cash and then working directly with food.

As much as I’ve loved this place over the years, I’m not sure I’ll be coming back. Food safety and hygiene should always be a top priority — no matter how busy it gets. I’m sorry but I hope some...

EDIT #2: AB King is probably my favorite pizza at the moment. The donair pizza is delicious, it's really is very good. They make really great pizza. Their customer service is also very good now. Thank you for improving! From 2 Stars to 4 Stars.

ORIGINAL REVIEW: The food here is amazing. Me and my friends accidentally found out about this place and it became a staple of good pizza for my friend's and I. We started eating here everytime we went out. The reason for 2 stars though is that we always asked for 4 plates and 4 disposable cups, but during our last visit, when asked for cups and plates, the owner went on a spiel of how if they give plates and cups to customers who don't eat in, where would their 'winnings' be because they'll lose too much money. For this reason, my friends and I don't want to go here anymore. Being this cheap actually effects customer service. At most they'll lose 50 cents on $45 order. I can buy 100 plates at superstore for $2-3. Giving us 4 plates and cups won't...
