Canadian Geese and other waterfowl have arrived to mate and spend the summer; expect the pelicans soon as well. Nice place to walk.

Well, summer has ended and Lake Beaumaris is showing off its Fall splendour. The Canadian Geese remain and more will gather here until the lake freezes and forces the geese to migrate. Be warned that there aren't any public washrooms located here. Lake Beaumaris is dog friendly and there is plenty of overhead lighting when darkness falls. There is construction happening at some access points to the lake, so it can be a little inconvenient. Fall colours are coming to an end (sigh), so now is the time to enjoy. Also, you may or may not be aware, but there is an incredible display of Amur maples on 97 street between 144th and 153rd avenues on the west side...

November 1, 2021 The renovations are done and they are amazing, there is an awesome new wide asphalt trail. New decks facing the lake. This is an awesome gem in the North side of Edmonton. Always lots of waterfowl to enjoy. The lake was frozen a bit so my wife and I got a laugh watching the geese skate on the ice

Beautiful walk/run/bike around Beaumaris Lake. Right now there is a major renovation/upgrade on the trail around the lake so be careful as the trail is a little rough at times. It is definitely needed as the old trail and look out points are well worn. This is a piece of nature right in the middle of the city. I definitely recommend coming here for a breath of fresh air and enjoying the geese, ducks...

The upgrades/renovations are great. The are more seating areas, benches and decks around the lake.

Its a great walk around the loop (approximately 2.7km). The people walking, cycling, roller blading are very f.iendly. Its a very safe place to walk alone or with a group of people. People walking dogs clean up after doggy doodoo.

The one thing that does need improvement is the main area by the mall, the City of Edmonton needs to maintain this area better. There are garbage cans that have not been emptied thus producing plenty of garbage in the area. Cmon City of Edmonton, let's keep this...
