Castle Downs Park — Attraction in Castle Downs

Great place to take kids. Have been coming here since I was very little when they had the Dragon at the spray park half. Happy at how much updating they have done to the park, it looks great. My son loves coming here, there are always friendly kids there for him to play with and there is an interactive part of the playground with more modern light up games. The skate park is a great addition as well. They do have public washrooms and a change room building. You can cook and picnic with the iron barbeques they have with picnic benches and there is a field behind with ball diamonds and soccer posts for sports. A large covered wooden gazebo is located beside the skate park in case you want to wait out a storm and stay dry. The ice cream truck parks there on a daily basis in the summer. The park is quite busy in the summer and sometimes there isn't much parking available but that is the only downfall and it is still worth a 5...

A nice place for kids to enjoy and physically be active. For board skating, schooter, bike maneuvering and as a play ground. In my opinion this a place to take kids so that they are physically active and hopefully develop a healthy hobby that they will keep into adulthood. I understand that the city has invested a lot to make this community friendly nice place. Unfortunately and to my disappointment some adults are involved in unhealthy practice that is contrary to the spirit of the place. They practice 'shisha' smoking in groups. I understand that they have the right to do so but at least most of us take our children to such places so that our kids are positively influenced in physical activity and healthy time spending. Castle Downs (Water) Park (AKA Castle Downs YMCA). Well maintained and extremally popular with plenty of parking and field space. Several baseball diamonds, soccer fields and even a Cricket Pitch. The playground has spraying water fixtures and is next to a lot of grass and concrete for sitting and even a huge skate park. There are two semi-pro soccer fields that are getting upgrades every year (sprinklers, lights, uprights).
