Absolutely loved this!! A must see!! We all laughed so much through this!! It was mostly funny and comical, but in a good way, not weird. Almost everyone stood for a standing ovation at the end.
Rachel Lynde in the rolling pin scene was absolutely hilarious! What a wonderful job those that played Diana Barry, Josie Pie, Anne's friend at Redmond college, and Luka Hall playing Paul Irving! Gilbert did a phenomenal job in the romantic scenes which isn't easy for guys to pretend to be in love; it was fully believable!! The cast filled the room with energy! The orchestra did a lovely job even though they were small. Thank you for a fabulous night!! What a treat!!
See this play after the Anne of Green Gables musical across the street. The Anne of Green Gables musical barely touches her romance with Gilbert and definitely not her later years. The Anne and Gilbert musical covers her years after school, her romance with Gilbert, and her life at...
Read moreFABULOUS! I had just read the first two "Anne..." books (well, almost finished with the second book at the time of the play) in preparation for this visit, and I'm so glad I had. This doesn't seem to follow the exact storyline of all the books, at least not order, but takes most of the important milestones, even if some are kind of combined. The story of the play was great, but the music was just fabulous! The actors and singers really made the performance, and it was a thoroughly enjoyable experience! (I do have one minor complaint, which was the acoustics in the venue itself. We were sitting at the very top left, near the pit, and this made it very hard to hear the vocalists at times. Not a problem with the pit as much as acoustics in the hall. This was not a big enough problem detract substantially from the enjoyable...
Read moreWe were completely blown away with the talent of the musical; singing, costume and set design, tap dancing, choreography, and their ability to bring the beloved characters to life. As someone who only just finished reading the first book, this musical brought me to tears. I recommend for those who have at least finished the first book - spoilers to come, but totally worth it. Its ignited my desire to finish the series. Only wish I could have a copy of the sound track. Our group broke out into song and dance multiple times after as a result - “You’re Island, you’re Island, you’re from Prince...
