Mike's Queen Street Meat Market — Attraction in Charlottetown

We went in to Mike's about 2 months ago. We walked around and asked a few questions as the butcher our way was just not cutting it. We talked a lot about the kind of ribs we wanted, he brought out these massive ribs and I will NEVER buy ribs from anyone else now. It cake as one sealed pkg,and we were discussing how to thaw and repackage as singles. Mike said bring it back in once thawed in fridge for a day and he would be happy to reseal it. I had heard someone say this place was good, so I thought I'd check it out: the smell is STRONG the second you enter, and there was a counter smeared with blood and meat remnants that no one was working on & it hadn't been cleaned yet. Not a good sign. Then I watched a clerk work with raw meat, then pick up numerous things & go back to the meat without washing his hands - when he did finally wash his hands, it was quick and for maybe 10 seconds, max, before he handled the raw meat again. The service was fantastic and friendly, very knowledgeable and helpful. We ordered a rib roast that needed to be cut and trimmed for us and we had some running around to do and would be back for it.
