Cleveland Park — Attraction in District of North Vancouver

A pleasant park and environment where you can enjoy a beautiful and fantastic scenery of the lake and mountains, especially at sunset. During the day time, the picture of the mountains get reflected on the lake surface which is truly breathtaking. The spot is sometimes chosen for wedding photography, as I have seen couples on their big day taking photos here. You can take a short path above the dam and take a look down the dam –if you dare :D, since the river is far down below and it might be scary if you develop Acrophobia- till you reach the forest. There you can find a beautiful trail as well, that you can hike if you are fine with the slopes of course, since it gets really steep at some points. There are plenty of benches you can sit on and relax for a while. The parking lot is free of charge and there is no time limit for that. Regarding the forest trails, you’d better be extra careful with bears and cougars depending on the season though. In my point of view, do not take the hike on your own. I came here with my boys to go sledding at the various steep hillside‘s on this property. It’s located on the north shore so it gets lots of snow in the winter. There appears to be lots of area which I’m sure is green space in the summer, but provides lots of room for romping in the winter in the snow along with the dogs who are running around. It’s located just up the street from Cleveland dam and the extensive trails behind that in the forest area. The whole area is interconnected with trails through the forest actually. Both the park and the dam and the trails see lots of visitors every day but it never seems very busy or too crowded. Perfect area to hang out with the family and have fun like we did in the winter time with winter sports but central to access both for hanging out and kicking the ball around on the fields or exploring the trails...

I run really fast at this park. Faster than at any other park. I have measured this phenomenon on 8 separate occasions, in an effort to reach a convincing set of data. I will update this review after I measure the pitch and slope next thursday. Park, pizza, monument, ship,...
