Fabulous dip into history. Small museum inside is a treasure!

Back for Thursday Night Market ... WOW, where did all these vendors and people come from!!??

It's the entertainment, music groups, happy vibes!

No... wait, it's the Food Truck court!! Soo many choices, hot food of all kinds, loong lineups of patient hungry snackers... kabobs, fries, kibbie and burgers, wraps and rice, pizza and donairs. Unbelievable!

No no, not it... it's the vendors, artists, handcrafters, woodworkers and jewelry makers. Whewww!

Not that? Well... what! The people, it's the kids, the teens, Mom's n Dad's, grandparents with wrinkles and white hair, the skateboarders zipping around the board park.

It's Fredericton, Dude, on a Thursday summer night.

So exciting! So fun. You...

Whenever I travel abroad, after a while, I start to miss Fredericton. In my thoughts, the first thing I associate with my town is the Officers' Square. It's a quiet yet lively corner where people, old or young, go for a walk or meet a friend or bring a child for a bit of fresh air. Officers' Square is an important landmark of the city. I love to sit there to ponder a thought or to talk to the next person about the weather. If I'm lucky, there would be a replacement for the traditional Guards , with their Scottish bagpipes music, which I adore. The new skating rink is a great addition, much loved and appreciated by young...

I visited early in the summer, so there were no special events or features in the square, just construction crews, the museum, some placards and a patch of grass, statues and benches. I spent a couple of interesting hours in the museum and wandering the square. Looking at the posters and materials I am sure it is a vibrant place in summer, with re-enactments and festivals. I think you will find more interesting architecture and substance just up the street where the art museum is, in restored buildings that look more like the barracks and other historic...

This place has been through a redevelopment plan, and now you can enjoy different artistic activities such as bands, movies, and dance performances at the new stage completely free. You can just enjoy the view while drinking coffee at the seating area in summer. And if you're a winter person, you can ice skate in the track at the perimeter as well. Take your own skates with you.

Officer's Square gets 5 stars, not necessarily because the park has a lot going on, but because of the various activities that take place throughout the year. Skating during the winter, Canada Day celebrations, live music, food trucks, next door to the Night Market, The Calithumpians, student day, and the Fredericton Museum. So many fun times to be had.
