Despite being warned over and over not to go to Trapped, we decided to try it to form our own opinion. We should have got the hint within 5 minutes of entering when the girl at the desk hardly acknowledged our family upon arrival or even make eye contact with us! But we had already prepaid so felt trapped to stay. It was also telling that we were the only paying customers. We would have received more pleasure in flushing our money down the toilet than being at Trapped.
The escape room we picked was new, however that does not excuse how incredibly horrible it was. Each puzzle had to be completely done at the same time, there was no way to simultaneously work on different puzzles to save time. And we needed to save time as each puzzle took over 10 minutes to solve, not so much because they were hard, but the hints were SO LONG. For instance, a simple Morse code puzzle could have exposed numbers, but instead had to expose almost a lengthy paragraph ex. “The first number to the clue is going to be five, the second number to the puzzle is six and the last number is four”, rather than solving “five, six, four”, just so unnecessary. By the time each puzzle was completed we lost our excitement to even open the locks, cause we were just frustrated and lost our patience.
By minute 35 we all wanted to go home and didn’t even want to stay to keep trying. We have completed dozens of escape rooms and have never ever felt that way before. It wasn’t defeat, because defeat would be from a hard escape room; this was an impossible escape room, and it was pathetic.
We left Trapped gladly and went to the other escape room in town and ended up receiving the best service we could ever ask for and actually had such a fun time escaping despite being in a “hard”...
Read moreI've been here twice. Their family friendly room, The Throne, was enjoyable.
However, the experience I had this past weekend doing The Missing was a disaster. The puzzles didn't work or they required the hands of surgeon on two members of a group.
Having done 40+ Escape Rooms, The Missing was sub par. It is designed for you to fail and telling a group whose asked for help, just try it for another 5-10 minutes, when I'm telling you we know how to do the puzzle, we have the correct solution and the puzzle is broken, is terrible customer service.
Furthermore, in escape rooms, when you input the correct solution, the lock/event should trigger immediately. For one hint, I was told, you have to do a particular thing for 40 seconds, which was next to impossible, and then it'll work. We had been trying for 10 minutes before staff finally used their phone to bypass the puzzle.
Also, the room was rigged where the lights would turn off repeatedly and one of the group would have to reset it. Therefore any puzzle you were working on would be randomly interrupted and that greatly impacted our ability to complete puzzles in a timely manner.
The room forced you to solve one puzzle at time so having more group members would not have helped and most rooms generally allow for a minimum of two puzzles to be worked on at once, especially if they have as many locks/solutions required at this room.
Finally, this room is not friendly to people who are injured or have mobility challenges and doesn't come with any sort of warning. As someone who duos rooms and has a few minor mobility issues, it would not have been possible to do this room if we hadn't had a third able bodied individual.

Read morePreviously, I had a lot of fun, I've been a few times. On this last visit, however, due to technological issues and a rude staff member it was a very negative experience.
The final keypad didn't turn green despite us plugging in the code (when our time ran up she confirmed it was right, but denied we had entered it). Last time, we had a similiar issue with the final key pad, but at least that staffer acknowledge we had been correct and gave us our victory.
I found this woman to be incredibly rude, especially in comparison to the one on our last visit who was friendly and understanding. This woman simply shrugged and made statements about it being our fault. No acknowledgement of the problem with their tech, apology, or even sympathy. Her attitude and comments soured the...
