I went in for an oil change and winter tires/rims put on. They did a great job with both of those but when they did the other checks, they broke one of the clips on my air intake filter box. One out of the two clips were already broken but one was enough to keep the lid in place. I change the engine and cabin air filters myself, I replaced them earlier that day and the remaining clip was fine before I went to Active Green + Ross. I did an engine bay inspection after my oil change and the mechanic must have broken the remaining intact clip when he was doing the inspection and I was not told about it. Why? Because the mechanic is dishonest and probably did not want to pay for it or have Active Green and Ross pay for it, so lets not be honest and tell the long time customer about it. Very unethical, unprofessional, very disappointing. Although its a big company, does not mean they are dependable, all depends on who is running that location and who the mechanic is. Not something I should have to pay for, something active should pay for as the amount of money they make, its no skin off their back. Im seriously considering never going back there, this isn't the first issue I have had with this location. But the issues are always blamed on previous mechanics they had and that those mechanics no longer work there. What happened to honesty and integrity? Especially with vehicles which are meant to keep us safe...
Read moreEDIT— review was made now as I just went for my next oil change needed after the summer. So your comment to that is mute. I have 5mm left and you stated back then they needed to be changed. I have the paperwork I’m more than happy to show you :) - try better next time. As I said I went back to my old active green and Ross which is better staffed. And cheaper pricing
Wouldn’t recommend. I was here sometime in summer and I was told how I basically need my breaks to be redone right away or else there was a small part that could break when breaking and it would cost so much more. Had the quote printed out and it was 600-700$
I went to my mechanic and said I still had lots and didn’t need it..
Went to active green and Ross on Upoer James which is the place I used to go to and my oil change was $20 cheaper (which they pointed out) and my 30 point inspection said everything was great only need to change cabin and air filter. I mentioned the breaks and what these guys said and he said I had about another year left on my breaks and that it’s people like these people here that give the business a bad name.
So for better quality workmanship, plus a $20 cheaper oil change I’d recommend Upper James Active green and Ross
Won’t be...
Read moreIve been storing my tires winter and summer there for years. Never had any issues. I went in to change out my winters to summers. They couldnt remove a nut off of one of them. Apparently tried everything. The store had changed hands in recently. After 2 hrs they sent me on my way with 3 summers and 1 winter on my vehicle. After calling the previous store manager who was at another location, telling him very rudly in the front of the store that this was not thier problem. I couldnt believe they told me to go elsewhere. I will never be back. I drove to the other location which had just closed. The manager was still there and came out to my vehicle to have a look. Grabbed a pair of pliers and removed the nut in 2 min. Set up an appt for the next day to change out the tire. Apologized on behalf of Active Green and Ross. Ottawa St. told me my winters weren't worth storing and put them in my truck. The other location (queenston) said I'd get another two seasons out of them. They've gained a new customer. Thanks Rob.
Gave Ottawa 1 star only because i couldnt...
