Going back when Hanover Casino first came about- it was a fun laughing and enjoyable place to spend a few hours-along with some of my friends or at times co-workers-$40-$60 and feeding by hand could last that amount of time along with some decent winnings-As time has passed the winnings have shrunk and very much fewer. Not many of the people I use to see go there -go anymore -including me- I use to go at least once or twice a week-My loses became so Pathetic and damaging to my enjoyment and affordability that I was one of the lucky ones who decided enough was enough and I may go once a year now-which I did yesterday and had to have my membership card reactivated- By the next time I and if ever it will absolutely have to be reactivated again-In your entire establishment there were more workers than players- I could have shot a cannon down many isles and would not have hit a soul .in the back room there was 3 of us players- I sat beside and 88 yr. old lady- very sweet and the only reason she was there her husband of 51 yrs. had passed and she lived alone and she said to me I could stay home and talk to myself-so sad I suggested take her money and buy a little dog- not aloud where she lives- lucky for your establishment or even she would not have been there-I spoke to a manager of this casino about 5 yrs. ago and told her what people were talking about and how unhappy they were with how greedy your casino has become- Well no-one wants to listen- No prob. Those elderly that have no where to go right now are not always going to be around and I've seen the thinning out of your crowd- no crowd anymore- just a hand full losing their pension money or life savings into your pockets. The word of mouth can be a very useful tool for businesses in making a business and its growth or it can also be the death of your business- I sure have'nt gained anything good to pass on to any of my friends or co-workers or just acquaintances My true advise would be stay away and don't go back.Exactly what I plan to do-I will stand by and watch your casino eventually close its doors because I have a horse at your stables that races but she won't be racing for the sad purses you present.Worth the trip elsewhere to race for worth while money.Sorry for not praising you establishment but I might be able to get you a job where I work hard for my money because in the very near future I can predict your going to be hunting for a new income.I said to my hubby tonight- before I walk through your doors I feel anguish and stress-thats not what its suppose to feel like- was'nt back in the day but I know my odds of losing have grown and wins are at a higher odds. Shame on you.karma has its way of working itself in a full circle and I'm 1 that plans on living longer than most of that handfull of peps that were there yesterday. Not hoping that will happen but its the sad end for all of us including your last few players eventually. Smile and be...
Read moreI was so thrilled to check out a new restaurant in Hanover. The initial reaction I had was what a beautiful set up, wonderful sitting, fantastic looking menu , nice looking friendly hostess and really friendly waitress. Unfortunately not a good meal does this make. I came with a party of three ,one member of my party said boy I hope that the food holds up to the effort they put into the aesthetics of this place. I laughed & said you had to come up with something didn't you. It was true the plating the presentation all was excellent. EXCEPT the food!!!! I had the chicken wings overcooked and when I asked for my celery to be given to my other diner I was refused. My french fries cost me an extra $4.00 while in a wonderful holder they were the smallest order. The other diner had the CLUBHOUSE It was the on plain bread (ok but not usual) and it had the worst Chutney sauce I have ever tasted. I mean it was simply awful and that after taste of the chutney lasted forever as did the aftertaste on the wings. The burger was a pretty decent meal. I am writing this not to bash this restaurant I want my town to have great places to eat. I just think owner's should know what impact the food has on...
Read moreI've never been to a casino where it felt like they didn't want you there ... had company up and after the hockey game we decided to go lose some money... the restaurant servers made us feel like we were an nuisance for asking for a menu ... they were putting chairs up and moping all around us (it was 1030) ... so we finished our drink and decided to go play ... we aren't kids ... we are in our 40's and the security seemed annoyed by us and asked a million questions ... we had 1 drink at the bar and they acted as if we were wasted and unwelcome... we walked the floor for 2 minutes and just left ... ive seen the kind of clientele that frequents the casino ... they should be bending over backwards to have us in there... such a shame cause it could be a great destination for people to head to in a community that had very little ... with online gaming being so easy, I really feel no need to ever stop foot in that...
