Never use this bakery for gender reveal

For our second baby we decided to find out the gender and thought a special way to learn it would be a special family dinner with “gender” cupcakes for dessert. My cousin agreed to arrange the cupcakes order through Schultz Bakery in Hanover. She made it clear this was a surprise, and requested they take extra care to keep it that way (no leaking icing etc). She called the day of pick up to once again remind the bakery that this was a surprise and the mom to be was the one coming to pick up the order so she begged them not to let it slip. They assured her for the third time, it would remain a surprise. Upon picking up the cupcakes with excitement, I walked into the store, said who I was and I was there to pick up my gender reveal cupcakes. The woman working found them, looked at them, and passed them to me. The box of cupcakes was labelled “BOY”.

Complete idiots. Needless to say they single handedly ruined a very special surprise and moment for our family. Will not be a returning customer obviously and would never recommend using this bakery for any...

I've been meaning to write this review for a while, and today feels like the perfect time. We stopped in to grab some donuts—not realizing it was National Donut Day! We may have sounded disappointed when we walked in, but we absolutely weren't. Honestly, we were just really excited.

Coming to Schultz is something we look forward to every single year when we head down to my husband's family's cottage. It’s become a tradition—a sweet highlight of our trip. The donuts never disappoint, and neither does the warm, nostalgic feeling we get walking through the door.

After a mistake with a previous order, I reached out and Kathy went above and beyond to ensure my satisfaction. For my daughter’s first birthday, I ordered a flamingo cake and tropical themed donuts and everything was done to absolute perfection! Our guests raved about the tasty donuts (especially the raspberry filled ones!). The flamingo cake was almost too beautiful to use for the cake smash, but my daughter sure enjoyed it (and I did too)! I’m already thinking about what to order for her 2nd birthday - I’ll be a lifelong customer now that I’m addicted to that...
