James Chabot Provincial Park — Attraction in Invermere

Great facilities at this park! There is a clean, well maintained public washroom. There is a playground and a field to play on. The beach has small pieces of driftwood but lots of sand and pebbles to keep the young ones entertained. The water is clean and there is an enclosed area to swim and keep boats out. The view of the lake is lovely and sometimes you can watch a train go by! The parking lot has many spots. There’s a walking trail along the beach. We enjoyed our time at this recreation area (we were there mostly for the beach). There is a ton of parking, and a massive playground where our kids spent a lot of time. Honestly the only reason that I give 4 stars instead of 5 is that it feels more exposed and less intimate than Kinsmen beach, nearby. It's still a great recreation area. A nice alternative to Kinsmen beach, this mostly grassy area has a decent playground for the kids and (at least the days we were there) sufficient parking. Not really much of a "beach" area (ie.sand), but there's still lots of access to the water. The site is kept clean and there are plenty of picnic tables, which is a huge bonus. There are some trees for shade, but not a lot of shady areas, and the lack of sand means planting an umbrella...
