Venue was lovely. HOWEVER, it would have been really nice if the number provided to call when we arrived with the bridge did not go directly to voicemail repeatedly AND if the coordinator we called inside (our hire) could have convinced the staff that letting the bride through the locked doors and providing the escort to the room that was promised would have been great. As it was we had to pound on the door and get the groom's mother's attention so we could get in. There was never an escort, never saw the promised room - instead we had to tell them to start the ceremony and then run down the hall to join the procession. The wedding coordinator did speak to staff and was told (we were on speaker so this is completely true) that the bridge would have to wait because they were helping a customer. i doubt that the customer was paying what we did. AND i think the email that goes out to wedding venue renters should be edited to read, " You are free to call this number, and if we are not helping someone with postcards or whatever, we may answer. You are not a priority. The folks wandering through the giftshop are more important than you are on this day you are mistakenly thinking is special. Try pounding on the locked doors in hopes of getting a visitor's attention and if that doesn't work go through the regular doors because you are not special to us on this day and what you paid is just for the space - certainly not sufficient for us to respond to the number we sent you, or to follow through on what...

Little was done for record archives, and emphasis for the society laid with the presentation of papers at bi-weekly meetings. In 2003, the museum was awarded the Museums Alberta Award of Excellence for Exhibitions for its "Ancestors" exhibit. The exhibit was a result of a partnership with the Royal Ontario Museum and the British Museum in London, England. The Galt has since been awarded with recognitions for excellence in programming, curation, marketing and tourism initiatives, horticulture and archival and collections management, including the following: Award for Excellence in Museums Finalist, Governor General's History Awards, 2016; Leadership Award for Engagement, Alberta Museums Association, 2013; 5 Blooms for the Native Prairie Plants Garden at Galt Museum, Communities in Bloom, 2012; Community Organization Award, The Aboriginal Council of Lethbridge and the Lethbridge Aboriginal Awareness Week Planning...

We had our wedding ceremony here and it was lovely! They set up the chairs and signing table for us, and we brought in a couple of signs and decorations, but I loved how the view was really all we needed! I had guests (most of them were not very familiar with Lethbridge) commenting on how it was a great place to sit and wait for the ceremony to start, as they could just look out the window! The curtains to help add privacy and the back rooms to wait in were very convenient, and the sound system was able to plug into my laptop just with a good old aux cord, which made me happy, since I wasn't keen on relying on the Bluetooth option lol. I just downloaded the songs I needed to my Spotify account and it worked great! Just a word of advice if you're trying to gauge the volume during your rehearsal - keep in mind that once you have a bunch of people in there, you're going to want to turn it up a bit more! I also really liked the building itself and the little extras on the south side for taking photos. There was enough shade from the trees to do family pics from 2:30-3:00ish no problem, and the old wall was a fun extra. I also liked being able to go back into the Viewing Gallery to get a couple pictures with the coulee view from an air...

We had an afternoon visit here. We visited here after going to Fort Whoopup where we received a 50% off our admission to the Galt. The discount really makes the visit worthwhile. Rob was manning the kiosk and it was a most friendly and professional experience. If you only do the gallery, then it will take about an hour to read all the placards and take pictures. You get greeted by a mounted bison upon entering with a most interesting diaroma of southern Alberta. It was interesting finding out about the purple plane and Uncle Ben's Sick Brewery. Lastly, the gift shop was one of the better that we've visited in the Lethbridge area. Thanks again Rob for your assistance.

Visited the Galt Museum for the first time on the weekend. My first thoughts of the museum is nice and clear and very bright. Lots to take in if you like to read but if you're more of hands on learner like myself you may be a little disappointed as a few interactive displays weren't functional at all. Check out my photos and videos to see what I am talking about. The washrooms in this museum were very clean and bright. Staff were nice and friendly also there is a gift shop and just like most gift shops they have some pricey items. Over all for the price to visit it was worth it. But I hope management see's the review and fix the broken things.
