I was at Markville Mall in Markham, Ontario today with my three young boys. I wanted to go into Michael Kors to look at their sunglasses as that was what I was looking for as a birthday present from my husband. Before entering the store I was very firm with my children that this was a nice and expensive store and that they needed to behave while I shopped for a few minutes. We entered the store and walked right to the back where the sunglasses were. The boys were standing quietly beside me as I tried on a few pairs. Barely minutes had passed and I was approached by a sales associate. Without even so much as a greeting, she told me that my boys would have to go sit on the bench, which was on the other side of the store, or we would have to leave.
To this point, my 7 year old, 5 year old and 23 month old boys had not moved from my side and had caused no issues. I placed the sunglasses I was trying on back where I got them then looked at the associate and advised her that she had lost my business. Then I left the store.
This has left me wondering just what prejudices Michael Kors instills in its employees. Was it because as a young mother with 3 children, I couldn't possibly afford to shop there? Or was it just that children are unwanted in their stores? Either way, Michael Kors has lost a once...
Read moreI am reading all the negative reviews here about customer service and I can say that I have never experienced rudeness to that level. My impression is that the sales ladies would give me space until I was ready to enquire about the items I am looking at.
The reason that I am giving four stars is because my watch and shoes purchased from Michael Kors were of excellent quality and I enjoyed both experiences. However, when I purchased a hand bag it wasn't checked over for any damages before I left the store by the sales associates. When I got the bag home I noticed black glue smeared all along parts of the leather. I returned it immediately with no issues.
I would definitely come back to this location as I have not experienced any of the service issues described in other reviews (perhaps they have done retraining or spoke to their sales staff since the other reviews were posted) and I have loved all of the items I have purchased here.
It would be nice of the store to respond to some of the negative reviews to know for sure that customers'...

I asked for the store manager or district manager which they refused to provide, Instead I was given a number for customer service support line which I contacted but I was told they only handle online shopping and they don't deal with in-store issues, when I insisted on returning the item and questioned why they sold a "sized" watch I was asked to leave the store!!!!!!!!!!
