I went here a few months ago since it was the only one open around this time (I would normally go to the laval one but on that day this one was the only one open till 9). I have went to addisons a few times at the one in laval, I really enjoyed it and it had everything I needed, the workers were very helpful and honest, but this one in montreal was a different story. I love buying motors to do DIY projects in my free time, so I thought I should just pick up a few motors at the addison here (since I thought it would be similar to the other one) but no. This place had 1 type of motor which was totally overpriced but even worse, when I finally tried to use it, 3 of the 4 were defective and where your supposed to supply power was either twisted or gone, and I was mad that I spent around 30$ for defective products. I don't think I am the only person who would experience this as where your supposed to supply power was so weak I couldn't even use alligator clips or it would break. When I was there the person who helped me seemed like he hated his job and didn't want to be there. I wouldn't recommend, as they have little to no circuits (other addisons have a collection of motors) rude staff, overpriced items, and...
Read moreI've been a customer for over 5 years at addison, I can tell you there's a serious trust concern over the staff. One of the woman working was demanding to see what I had in my bag. That's no big deal, I show her my bagg and give it to her, she grabbed it and was inspecting what's inside. Displeased, to realize I haven't stole anything she was trying to ask what I have in my lunchbox. Again, I show my lunchbox to her. She realized how she terribly screwed up, and the worse thing, she was angered because she was certain I was a thief.
I should be the one pissed off instead and not her.... Next time, I should just strip in front of her co-workers, for the sake of it, if she insist further...
Read moreI must've dropped 500 bucks in this place and without exception, every item was defective or refurbed. The two soldering irons didn't heat properly. The sd readers burnt my cards! The samson mixer had two intermittent channels, the lavalier mic was a chinese knock off and broke after 2 sessions, the usb hubs had back current, even the audio plugs had defects and were out of spec. Some of the cables worked, but that's it. A huge waste of time and money. And naturally, there is no refund or returns. It seems like a fun 'maker' place but buyer beware. Istead of saving 200$, I ended up wasting 500. ...
