Salon Intemporel — Attraction in Montreal

I recently moved to Montreal and struggled to find a hairstylist who was comfortable cutting curly hair, and then I found Martine! From the moment I walked in, she put me completely at ease. As an anglophone who was still new to the city and to the French language, I was relieved by her patience and willingness to communicate about my specific hair goals in English. She also went above and beyond the usual offer of a beverage by making me a caramel latte with a shot of whiskey, which added to the warm atmosphere and personal touch she brings to her work.

As for the cut itself, she was attentive and meticulous, and spent a lot of time listening to my description, and even looking up photos on Instagram with me before reaching for the scissors. Throughout the cut, she continued to check in with me about how I was feeling, the curl-friendly techniques she was using, not to mention sharing all the amazing stories she has accumulated from her travels around the world.

I recently went to Martine's to get a haircut after seeing how many good ratings she had on Google. Thankfully I was not disappointed. Martine is very easy to talk to and be around. She also makes a great latte along with giving a great haircut! I had recently had a baby and was looking for a new hair do. I was a bit nervous to cut off so much hair but Martine was very skilled and gave me a great shape that looked good even after I showered! Usually the trouble of getting a new hair style is that you can't style it after you leave the salon, but with Martine's cut I had no problem making it look good even myself at home. I also have thick Asian hair that was no problem for her to work with. Score! I would recommend her salon for her warm personality, intimate setting, and of course, great hair cut....

Recently moving to Montréal, I have had a hard time finding someone who could consistently give me good results over the last 2 years. Salon Intemporel is the exception. I travel across town to go here and I am always satisfied. It is an awesome little spot with only 2 chairs, and you typically have to book a time a week in advance. It feels homey and cosy and comfortable.
