Diver Lake Park — Attraction in Nanaimo

I love the ducks, marsh and nature. There's a nice pathway that does a loop (to the right of the ducks); it loops back to the parking lot. There's also a nice trail to the left of the restroom and off leash dog area. There's a playground right beside the parking lot as well as court area where you could practice your racket swing 🎾. Behind that is another small concrete sport area where you can throw around a basketball 🏀 or practice some ball moves ⚽

I don't recall seeing a tennis court net or a basketball hoop. Just the closed off area with concrete, and the "basketball" area is not fenced.

This is a fave park for group activities, with a large grassy area for field sports (throwing the ball around or walking a dog), and the bench by the lake is a nice spot to sit and think. It's unfortunate Nanaimo developed all the industrial land around the lake, but the park is an oasis for the neighbourhood around it and a buffer between busy industrial/commercial land and the residential area on the other side. There are some great trails, several are pretty accessible for wheelchairs, handcycles and strollers. The BMX park is super fun...

Diver lake park accessed through Black Franks Drive in Nanaimo, BC.. this park has interesting surroundings. Children can come here to.play in their play park, others can come here for tennis, squash, fishing in lake. There is small free parking lot. Special is that there is a mountain biking trail to practice mountain cycling skills. Small walking trail to go for quick walks or relax by sitting down at jetty on the lake. Please respect privacy of residents bordering to this park as their backyards have fences facing...
