Joe Burger — Restaurant in Nanaimo

It's a good place for hamburgers and fries. I have been wanting to try this place out from looking at the reviews and pictures. The hamburgers here are restaurant quality. It's not among the top best hamburgers I tried but it was pretty solid. Personally I like smash style burgers more but here is more traditional style.

The burger was juicy and full of flavour. The flavor mainly comes from the Joe special sauce which kinda tastes like big mac sauce but way better. I am not a fan of big mac sauce, so the sauce isn't for me. The next time, I'll see if they do ketchup and mayo which I prefer. As the Joe special sauce over powers the other flavors of the burger.

The fries were the surprise star of the meal and I'm quite picky with my fries. They came out hot out of the deep fryer. It was hot and crispy goodness! The meal was rounded out with your typical fountain pop. The service was good and I appreciate my food made to order. I don't mind waiting a bit longer for better quality. Very nice fast food burger. I had the bacon cheeseburger and the fries. The fries are quite similar to the ones at Costco, they offer a version called "Joe Mama style" which based on the description sounds quite similar to the Animal Style fries served at In-N-Out in California, so if you've ever tried that missed that taste in Canada this place is an easy recommend for that. The vibe I get reminds me of independent burger shops I saw in many Canadian malls back in the 90s and I'm happy to see it back here. I'm always open to supporting local businesses when they offer a quality product and this tastes like quality to me. If you're looking for a great burger spot, look no further! I got a cheeseburger combo with onion rings and a drink, my husband got a double cheeseburger with bacon combo with fries. The fries and onion rings were perfectly crispy and flavorful. The burgers themselves were juicy, packed with flavor, and perfectly balanced. Joe's burger sauce created a nice tangy flavor profile which perfectly complimented the burger.

Aside from the great food, the staff was kind and accommodating.
