This is a museum of rather specialized historical and geographical interest, the Madawaska. It was of interest to us because my wife's father's ancestors were founders of the settlement of Saint Basile, now part of Edmundston. In addition to artifacts of the Malaseet first nations people who have long inhabited this region, this museum tells the story of the how the land came to be divided between Maine USA, Québec, and New Brunswick.
We were given a personal tour of the museum by its director, Mr. Christian Michaud, who told us we were likely to be the only visitors stopping by that day.
