I rate this a 3 because the sound was so loud the facility offered hearing protection . I reviewed the other sound comments, and it seems the quality and volume of the show are completely in the hands of the renting performance.
I was relieved to discover there was a quiet room where one can watch the performance without the excessive volume experience. I had purchased center seats but had to leave. It was impossible to watch the family focused performance. With all the supportive parents, grandparents, and siblings , one would think that the sound technician would keep the volume within the safety levels to prevent hearing damage. We were relieved to be offered the quiet room to watch the second half. This is not the only school performance where attending the show required hearing protection. I hope that the sound specialist steps up to advise the amateur productions . In explanation, we were told the performers needed to hear the sound at a higher volume. .....perhaps placing speakers behind them ? A decibel level check would be advisable for health and safety. Otherwise, the theater is a 5 in all...
Read moreI really want to write good reviews whenever possible. I; along with 3 others, went to this facility to watch an Eagles cover band on the 23 April. Starting with inadequate bathroom facilities in the lobby, to entering the theatre only from the top floor and then walking down only 2 side aisles (no centre aisle) to having navigate into you seat on a very narrow passage where people who are already seated refuse to stand up to provide any additional space to finally getting to your seat which in present day terms should only used in a prison. Needless to say, once seated going to the limited washroom facilities becomes out of the question. This isn't a review of the band but to suffice to say they should have stopped performing a decade ago. The sound system probably has not been updated since it was installed and the stage lighting did nothing to enhance this show. An evening that was looked forward to with much anticipation turned out to be a DISMAL experience. What might have been thought of as a nice theatre 50 years ago now has all the inconveniences of "just another...
Read moreEvery show that I've seen here has been absolutely amazing I love this place for concerts. It is small enough that you get a very personal experience.
The only constructive criticism I have for this Performing Arts Center is that if you're rocking out at a concert you may have a fear that somebody will come tap you on shoulder and tell you to sit down... If it's a rock show and you're jamming out you should be able to stand up dance around and rock out... if the people behind you can see, they should be able to feel free to stand up and rock out as well I'm not going to sit down during a Glass Tiger show when I should be rocking out...
