We had a wonderful experience with Merit furniture in Duncan. We came over from Salt Spring to look for a sofa and loveseat to replace our old ones. Michael greeted us, gave us some guidance when we explained what we were looking for, knowledgeably answered our questions about the different brands and styles, then left us on our own to try them out.
We found a set that we thought fit our needs, and it was delivered when promised (the delivery guys were quick, efficient, careful, and took away our old loveseat so it would find a new home).
After a number of days, we realized we had made a mistake--The firmness of the furniture wasn't working for us. We called Michael and he was very understanding, and told us he would work with us to find a replacement set.
We went back over to Duncan the next day and found exactly what we needed--very similar to the one we had bought, but a slightly different style that was less firm. The best part was that this set was the same price as the original one, so we didn't incur any extra costs. We are expecting delivery of the new set, and removal of the one we are returning, next week, when the delivery folks will be on Salt Spring again.
All in all, this has been a remarkably smooth and easy experience, and we couldn't have asked for any better customer service. We felt Michael was honestly trying to help us be satisfied and happy with what we purchased. We're happy to support this local family business, and highly...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI will not shop here again, no not ever. (Duncan BC location) I ordered a bed in September of 2020, and I did not receive the bed until February 2021, five months, almost six months.
They kept telling me it was because of Covid 19 that shipping was delayed, okay maybe so, as I know a lot things are slowed because of covid, BUT not once did they call to keep me updated, I had to drop in and also call to check on it.
When I finally received the call that the bed was in, they said they could not enter the building and would leave it in the lobby for me to take up and put together my self, which I find odd becaue right on their web site they clearly say they have professional people who deliver and set up your purchase where you want it.
I explained when I bought it five months ago I was promised delivery AND set up, they finally said they would see what they could do, a few days later they send someone to bring the bed and to set it up, (not really professionals, but they did a good job none the less) but no box spring or matress, so I called again, and now was informed they thought I had those items, so again I wait until the following week for them to bring me those items. I don't think it was all because of COVID 19, because way before covid19 I had ordered a couch and it was the same thing, not five months but it still took about a month to get the couch. I bought a recliner to try to alleviate some of the problems, but since this is a new adjustment in his life my husband just saw the chair as a reminder of his decline and he wanted nothing to do with it. Because I purchased without doing proper measurements as I went from the hospital to the store, the chair was also too big for our spaceā¦.but an absolutely beautiful chair. When I explained my predicament to Michael he was so extremely kind and helpful and fully understanding of the stress that I was going through. Also the young men who picked up the chair when the return was accommodated were also so very kind and understanding.
