What a gem we have in London here! Had an excellent tour learning about how Sir Frederick Banting's Eureka moment when and how he discovered insulin. He led an extraordinary life (did you know he served in both world wars??) Also learned how Queen Elizabeth II and the Queen Mother visited here in 1991, interesting story as well, This only scratches the surface. It's worth 2 hours of your time to visit this site at least once! You'll be glad you did. Very inspiring.. Admission was $7 per person Parking is either on the street (Queen St) or in the municipal parking lot right before the museum on Queen St (which is a one way street going west)

As such importance of this place is well beyond giving any star rating . People with wisdom and foresight have converted the residence of Sir Fredrick Grant Banting, the discoverer of Insulin drug in to a Memorial . He has indeed given a fresh lease of life to countless diabetic patients. To commemorate his contributions to humanity his statue is erected and many eminent and prominent people have paid their tributes. Me and my wife being a diabetic couple, we paid our tributes on our and also on behalf of several our relatives and friends .....

A great historic site to learn about an important discovery! The house is not big but contains some really neat artefacts and interesting stories. The staff member on duty that day, an Asian volunteer whose name I forgot, offered to give us a tour, which lasted about half an hour. She was very friendly and deserves some compliments! It was so interesting to learn about the circumstances, the other people involved, and the impacts of the discovery. I hope more people, locals and visitors alike, discover and visit this museum.

A good museum exhibiting the life of Banting before and after insulin, things about his work, about the Nobel Prize, the later development of insulin and research, and his family and artwork. Helpful staff, reasonable entry price. Took around an hour to see everything. Could benefit from more of the history of insulin and diabetes research afterwards (otherwise it gives the impression that insulin is a solved thing rather than something that has been significantly changed over the years).

It was wonderful to see this house preserved in honor of Dr. Banting and his fellow researchers who were the first to treat diabetes with insulin and save many lives. I loved seeing the historical medical instruments as well. Diabetes is such a common disease that we see in healthcare, but there is still no cure. I'm praying this museum will inspire researchers to keep searching and am grateful for our guide's tour. She explained the history very clearly.

This was an accidental find for us, but we are so glad we stopped in for a tour. The staff gave us a 30 minute tour and they were extremely knowledgeable, engaging, and personable. The story of the creation of insulin, the creators, and the historic home/building was very interesting and well worth the $15 (for a family) entry fee. Check it out if your ever in London Ontario and looking for something a little educational.
