Went to Moxies for a birthday party last night. The party had the upper level reserved. It is a nice space to hold an event, large with washrooms on the upper level. The restaurant as a whole was empty so it felt like the entire restaurant was booked out for the party. Apparently the patio was busy. The server was pleasant, she did a good job considering she was in charge of the entire indoor portion of the restaurant. We had reservations for 15 and only 10 made it so we lucked out. It would have been challenging for our server to keep up if it was a full group and we were drinking more. I ordered some items off the late night happy hour menu. The pricing is pretty decent after 9. I had a big life euro lager for $9, split the truffle parm fries and the roasted tomatoes and whipped feta dish with the g.f. I also ordered a shrimp taco and the calamari & shrimp dish. The food was pretty good, the whipped feta dish could have used a longer cook on the roasted tomatoes. The taco was excellent and the shrimp and calamari was heavy on the calamari and light on the shrimp. Overall a good time. They did auto tip 18% on the bills which is a little steep and presumptuous for an auto tip. Truth be told we would have left a $20 for the server if they didn't auto tip. Parking is hard to find and is pricey.

Downtown location close to the large financial / corporate buildings and other shops / restaurants. Modern, beautiful decor with lounge and bar. Loved the lighting and comfy seats at our circular table. Great ambiance. Great food and friendly service from everyone that worked there. The restaurant was not busy when we went so we pretty much had the whole place to ourselves which was nice. There were maybe 2 other tables with people later on. There is street parking 5-10 walk from location. Ten minutes walk away at Victoria Park, there is 2 hour free parking using Honk Mobile if you use promo code CORE. We went during Happy Hour 2 pm to 5 pm where they had appetizers and drinks from $5-15. Shrimp taco was yummy. The creamy garlic and sweet spicy sauces that came with the calamari and shrimp were delicious. Smashed avocado dip came with nice, crisp tortilla and taro chips. Our friends loved the Thai coconut milk soup with bread and the chicken fingers kids meal. The food was fresh and did not take too long to be served. There is a great variety of items on the menu. We wanted to sit outside in the patio but there was too much construction and dust with major work being done on the roads/sidewalks downtown.

Came to Moxies with a group for work and was just simply satisfied overall. Nothing amazing, nothing bad. For food, I got the blackened chicken burger with a side of parmesan truffle fries, which was quite good and, reasonably priced relative to other things on the menu but, with inclusion of mandatory gratuity got quite expense. For Atmosphere, we were sat on the Patio which was quite nice. Definitely one of the nicer patios I have been to, of a bar & grill type restaurant. Service is where Moxies really falls short, it was just okay. The server took quite long for us, albeit we were a group, but the worst was the mandatory 18% gratuity, I can never really recommend somewhere that makes you pay more than you should through a gratuity. However, the staff were nice in that they ensured when paying we knew gratuity was already included. Not bad but, not sure it was worth the $34 overall.

Words cannot fully describe the level of satisfaction we experienced hosting my sister's wedding afterparty. From planning to decorating to the night of the event Don and the team at Moxies was extremely cordial and accommodating with our request and went above and beyond to ensure we were satisfied. the cocktails, the appetizers, the food was all executed to perfection by the Moxie's team and at the times we agreed. And to top it all, it cost me half of what I was planning to spend with open bar and full menu for 40 guests. Oh by the way, the room delivers great acoustics for you to blast some music and hit the dance floor all night! Moxie's, if you read this review, please pass the message along to the whole team (hostess, servers, bartenders, cooks and management) they will be forever remembered for partaking in such an important event for us.

Moxie's has a delightful Patio that is partially covered. A Patio lunch can be enjoyed regardless of weather. They even have heaters for those rare cool summer nights. The Menu is has offerings that cater to most elegant tastes. I had the Tuna Sushi Stack and a Coolicious glass of Kim Crawford white. Crisp, cool, refreshing with the taste of Tuna Sushi. Sublime decadence, flavourable and Phenomenal. Definitely would order again or even just go back because I am Craving it! My Friend has the Caesar Salad. Nothing spectacular about it. Did not even rate taking a photo... I did not notice until after we left and the bill was paid, that we were charged full menu price for the Tuna Sushi Stack even though we ordered from the Happy Hour Menu. Check your bill prior to paying! All in all, a great fun place to dine or snack.

Worth every dollar! We went there for my mom’s birthday, she loves a good steaks and she always wanted to try the place but it just never happened…. Wonderful atmosphere- not too loud or crowded, 100% great service- friendly and helpful and UNBELIEVABLE food. My mom got her Mushroom Sirloin and I wish I was quick enough to take a photo after she cut it haha. We also got the Tuna Poke Bowl, healthier choice- be careful with the sauce on the side as it can be spicy to some. I’m vegetarian and I was surprised by the variety of options I had in a place like this, didn’t feel like an afterthought to the menu at all! However, the Chicken Madeira Rigatoni sounded too good to miss (without the chicken of course), and I FULL HEARTEDLY recommend it! Great experience, we’ll be back 😊
