Went here with a group of girlfriends since I had been many times previously and have always had good experiences until this time. The atmosphere was great but the service was not. Server was very unfriendly and pushing more drinks onto us after saying we'd wait she came back and asked again, and we repeated we were going to wait. We ordered a round of margaritas for $15 each and positively certain there was ZERO alcohol in them. I got mine remade and there was a clear difference between my drink and my friend's. We ordered a few apps to share and the portions were sadly small and not worth it. The first round of drinks clearly didn't have alcohol but we ordered wine and were satisfied with the remainder of the night until the interaction with the manager. We discussed our suspiciously sweet/alcohol free drinks with the server and she told us how long the bartender had been working there and how great he is then got her manager. We then explained the situation very apologetically to the manager and he immediately told us how long the bartender has been there and how great he is and always follows the recipe as written. He proceeded to tell us that we were coming in and "questioning the integrity of my bartender and the integrity of me". This man was getting so mad that he was visibly shaking and the anger in his eyes was enough for me to never come back. He offered (as if we were going to pay) to take the first round of drinks off the bill and that's all we were looking for. We weren't going out looking for free drinks and that seemed to be the attitude we were given. We were clearly finished and ready to leave after this interaction (practically had our coats on) and our rude server came back over and asked if we wanted more drinks. We were obviously finished and not impressed. Do you really think we would want to give you more business and stay there any longer after your rudeness and your manger's. There's a reason tipping is optional in this business, and as someone that works in the restaurant industry this behaviour was very unprofessional and embarrassing to witness. A month ago I would've recommended this place to everyone as "an old reliable" in almost every city. Moxies on Richmond St in London, ON can be scratched from that reliable list because you can't even rely on the staff to do their jobs properly. I will never be back here and would not recommend to anyone anymore. Sorry not sorry there's no excuse to be THAT rude to customers when it's your job and as the manager you've been hired to deal with problematic situations and this was a pretty light "problem" with an easy solution. I would be scared for the day when this manager has a REAL problem with not such easy-going customers. Hopefully your staff can practice customer service skills or maybe host a seminar for...
Read moreMy recent visit to Moxies with my wife was an absolute delight, and it was the exceptional hospitality that truly made the evening unforgettable. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with genuine warmth that set a positive tone for the entire meal. Our server, Hailey, was a amazing to us along with her trainee Lily. She guided us through the menu with ease, offering excellent recommendations that perfectly matched our tastes. She was always one step ahead, anticipating our needs without being intrusive, and her seamless service ensured a relaxed and enjoyable dining experience. Lily seemed eager to learn, incredibly friendly, and already demonstrated a natural talent for customer service. It was clear that Hailey was a wonderful mentor, and the way she patiently guided Lily showed a commitment to excellence that is rare to find. The pinnacle of our experience was the interaction with the manager, Angus. He made excellent recommendations, comped our bill to assist with parking expenses and circulated the dining room with a genuine smile, taking the time to connect with guests. He stopped by our table to ensure everything was to our liking, and it was clear he took immense pride in his team and the restaurant. His leadership was evident in the seamless operation and the positive, team-oriented atmosphere. The food at Moxies was, as always, delicious. But what will bring us back again and again is the stellar team. The trio of Angus, Hailey, and Lily exemplified what truly excellent customer service is all about. They didn't just serve us a meal; they provided a truly memorable and welcoming experience for my wife's birthday. Huge thanks to them for a fantastic evening and if you haven't yet defiantly take the time to check them out, you wont be...
Read moreWent to moxies for my friends birthday we had a group of 6. When we first got there the waitress did not ask us if we wanted drinks and would help the table behind us and refill drinks and serve them and they came after us. Once we waved her down to get apps and drinks we waited about 30-40 mins for 3 apps we asked for the calamari and shrimp well done (it was not ) I waited to tell her that food was not to everyone’s liking and then i noticed the calamari had a wet egg looking substance oozing out as if it wasn’t fully cooked. I finally got her attention and when i told her she said what you want me to do then ? I said I’m grossed out and i tired one piece and it was so rubbery and wet. She took it off the bill. We waited about 20 more mins to order food where she skipped two of us and had to wait to ask someone that works there to find her to finish ordering. Food was good for the main . After dinner we wanted to have cheesecake and something for the birthday girl. When we told her we wanted dessert for ourselves and the birthday girl she only brought out a birthday gift dessert and did not take our orders so we sat around watching her. Try to eat the dessert she got. So we didn’t even get anything .. then all of a sudden I hear my friend say what’s that on my plate??? We all looked and it was a curly rough looking hair right on the whipped cream. To get her to tell her took awhile we had to get other staff and once she came she just took it. We got there at 8 pm reservation we did not leave till about 11. Was ridiculous service after many tables of bigger parties have come and gone with...
