I really wanted to like it, my expectations weren’t set too high considering it is a new business, yet the most positive thing I can say is that the interior is nice and my friend enjoyed a nostalgic bottle of Fresca. If underwhelming and mediocre are part of your business plan then BUZZ delivered aplenty. What they don’t deliver is a decent sandwich, cappuccino or danish experience. For the almost $8 for each of our bagel sandwiches the value proposition is not here and the overall enjoyment was “meh” at best. The cappuccino I ordered was on par with institutional vending machine coffee like beverage and the blueberry danish looked appetizing until I discovered it had been microwaved (who does that). While I am pleased to see an unoccupied downtown space brought to life, I fear that a one and done business model with regard to attract and retain customers won’t bode well for this venture. Hopefully they can improve the size and quality of their offerings and maybe become enrolled in one of the student dining programs available because they face stiff competition from nearby vendors with similar but much better options. This is a tough block to thrive on given how far this stretch of Dundas has fallen in the last few years. I for one will buzz on by to a more acceptable and desirable option for lunch or coffee whilst downtown (which is a frequent occurrence). Lots of room to improve here.

I wish I could leave a better review. We were excited to try this new DT spot and ordered The Hunny, The Lox, the Mixed Berry Smoothie and Iced Caramel Latte. Unfortunately the entire experience was a let down and very inefficient despite having several employees- there doesn’t seem to have been training on how to make basic coffee beverages as there were multiple drinks made incorrectly / returned during our stay. The staff seem very confused and there is no system in place for payment. I had to ask to pay multiple times after receiving our order where I’d imagine some people would just keep quiet and enjoy a free meal. I am leaving two stars because the food was good although the order came out wrong. The drinks were very bland / tasted low quality - truthfully we didn’t finish them. At $35 this order felt over priced. We wouldn’t return. Intervention / training is needed ASAP to improve efficiencies and customer experience.

It's a great spot for a bite, some coffee, and to get some work done. I've tried Heavenly Hash and Egg Sally. Heavenly Hash is delicious (egg and bacon sandwich with a hash brown) but the egg salad was lacking a bit of oomph (maybe needed to be creamier - more mayo). Also the lettuce that came with my Egg Sally was browning :( The drip coffee is really good and there's also a range of interesting drinks to choose from such as an iced Cinnamon Toast Crunch latte (it was really sweet but good). I appreciate that they don't mind if you sit and do some work for a couple of hours. One thing I'll note is their everything bagel is good but I found it odd that it seems to only be sesame seed, poppy seed and caraway. Normally I'd expect garlic and/or onion on an everything bagel. Still tasty, but just to note!

UPDATED REVIEW: Increased to 5 from 2 stars.

Comparable pricing to other deli style cafes in the downtown core.

Very pleased to see that this establishment takes feedback from customers seriously when others fail to so abysmally. You have made your BAGELS BIGGER which is most satisfying and in touch with what customers are looking for and wanting. Undoubtedly your bagel sandwiches now reflect the prices attached to them.

The ambience is welcoming and pleasant despite the location which is not optimal with all the drama that occurs in front of the shop which is at the corner of Dundas and Richmond. Despite this the wide and clear windows let in ample light, and warmth and augment a sense of largeness and spaceciousness, comfort and ease. The impeccably polished floors and dark high ceilings, large polished wood tables and leather chairs and stools all contribute to a sense of luxury. One feels quite safe and relaxed as if in an oasis where time stands still amidst the flurry of a busy intersection.

While this establishment will undoubtedly be attractive to the young and parent's- wallet-wealthy student from both Western and Fanshawe the menu and offerings express sophistication and are well though out to appeal to a broad demographic including the busy and time limited office worker to the rushed blue collar city worker or even the transient visitor from the nearby hotels, markets and festivals that are part of London's year round tourism.

Day old in house baked bagels, cream cheeses, pastries with very popular brownies and chocolate chip cookies as well as a selection of specialty Hale Coffee bags and of course a high end Espresso, Capuchino and Latte maker to boot for the coffee afficionado.

Favourites to mention are the Pizza Bagel, and The Buzz Breakfast Bagel among others. Hand made cold drinks as well as refrigerated selections of boost and energy drinks as well as soda drinks complete the beverage section.

Two stars for keeping reasonably clean washrooms, friendly and attentive service, and a neat, organized and very clean dining space which makes for a great start.

Two more additional stars for being attentive to and working with customer feedback to improve and better your offerings.

One last star for maintaining a unique high end establishment that shows care and discerning taste and appeal. A local business to...

Bagels z

I’m not from London. I was working at a convention and wanted something other than the catered offerings from the hotel. I went for a walk looking for a dumpling spot I visited a few weeks earlier. I couldn’t find it, it was sleet/raining… and it was after midnight… I walked into this wonderful establishment, completely on accident. There is a bagel bakery in Toronto that I used to live a block away from… If these bagels are not created there, they have mastered the same technique! I ventured back a second night after a delicious turkey sandwich, I bought a few bagels for breakfast along with some chocolate banana bread and chive cream cheese! Kudos to the owner… It’s about time we have better choices than street meat and fast food after hours. I highly recommended this restaurant to everyone at the convention, and I recommend it to anyone asking about a decent place to get healthier food late night. The Bagels are amazing. They sell REAL cream cheese… you’ll...
