A lovely place to walk along the Millennium Boardwalk and read about the history and way of life of the people of Pembroke and see pictures of Pembroke from the 1800s and early 1900s. There's a 2hr free parking nearer the park (be careful of the paid parking lot ...read the signs). There are a children's playground and giant sundial, a few picnic tables, benches, pagodas, plaques, and lots of shade. There's also a checkers board painted on a tree stump and two wooden seats... Very nice feature if you want to play and bring your game pieces. The Marina and boat launch is on one end where you can get food from the food shop. We also like to walk along the pathways and boardwalk, wander the lawns, hunt for painted rocks.
This time there was a big group of older kids (a high school drama class maybe?) on the lawn. Considered going to a different park, but then decided it would be good for my covid-raised toddler to at least watch a big group of big kids. We ended up dancing to the chants...
