City of Orillia is charging $50 for parking at these public parks for non residents. It was a pretty unpleasant experience for us visiting Orillia on 15 Aug 2020. First we drove around 2 hours early morning to find out we could not get into MacRae Point park as the park was full around 830 in the morning. We were 5 families with precooked food and everything so decided to have our picnic in one of Orillia's public parks. We found out that city of Orillia is ripping people off by charging $50 per vehicle parking. We paid and then later to our surprise we could not even warm our food up as there was no cooking/warming up of food allowed on flame. So we had to gulp down our frozen food somehow.

Same time last year when we visited, we were able to do our BBQ in the same Tudhope park. Over all it was a horrible experience visiting Orillia so anyone planning to visit there as a non resident for a picnic should at least think twice.
