I had the absolute pleasure of dining at the fish and chip restaurant run by the dynamic duo, Guri and Inder. From the moment I walked in, their warm welcome set the tone for a remarkable culinary experience. The attention to detail in the cozy yet vibrant ambiance was truly commendable.
The star of the show, undoubtedly, was the fish and chips they served. The crispy batter encasing the perfectly cooked fish fillets was a testament to their culinary prowess. Each bite was a harmonious blend of textures and flavors that danced on my palate. What truly stood out was the impeccable freshness of the fish, a testament to their commitment to sourcing the finest ingredients.
Guri and Inder's passion for their craft was evident not only in the food but also in the attentive and personalized service they provided. Their recommendations were spot-on, showcasing their deep understanding of flavors and pairings. It was evident that they took pride in every dish that left their kitchen.
The menu boasted a variety of options, catering to diverse tastes. Whether you're a seafood aficionado or a casual diner, there's something for everyone. The attention to dietary preferences was also a refreshing touch, ensuring that no guest felt left out.
Beyond the delectable food and charming atmosphere, what truly left an impression was the genuine warmth and hospitality of Guri and Inder. They engaged with each guest, sharing stories and creating a sense of community that's all too rare in dining establishments.
In an era where dining experiences have become increasingly transactional, Guri and Inder's fish and chip restaurant is a delightful departure. It's a place where culinary expertise, warm hospitality, and a genuine passion for food come together to create an unforgettable dining adventure. It's safe to say that I'll be returning to savor their creations and bask in their hospitality time...
Read moreThey asked me to write a review so here goes. I went in with my family a little while ago while on vacation. At of all the places we visited this was the only place where their was no covid safety protocols in place which was a red flag for me personally. No signs about it, the cooks weren't wearing any masks, nothing, I'm fully vaxed and it doesn't bother me to share that personal information about myself, but if you're not, just a heads up. I support people's personal choices, anyway, on to the meal. We all got the cod fish and chips, with a poutine instead of fries, I enjoyed the poutine, it was just ok. The fish however was less fish and more batter, if I had to guess I'd say they use pancake batter and not a proper beer batter like I've had and prefer many times. The batter was so thick it was like a donut wrapped around my fish, I didn't enjoy it, it was just so absorbed with fryer oil, and their was very little cod. None of us enjoyed it, or could finish our meal, so much batter, too much. I understand a lot of people prefer their fish like this but I don't, the lady served us with no mask and didn't seem to mind the loiterer sitting close by to us on the outside picnic table who would not stop coughing and hacking up flem while he babbled to himself, this destroyed any remaining ambiance, we left because of this. The tartar sauce was tasty. I personally wouldn't return. The lady who served me was very friendly, so theirs that, I wish the restaurant all the best. As mentioned I was asked to leave a review, presumably, she is the...
Read moreCalamari is in a sad state and my 2 piece is a 1 and 1/2 piece (if that). I'm disappointed I tipped on pickup just going to chuck the calamari. Tastes good but it's too much effort to drive back and refund the calamari. Quality has gone down in the last year, believe they are under new management.
Originally posted early spring? After I seen the response I wanted to elaborate. We ordered 2 1 piece meals ant 1 2 piece. The one piece meals come with a piece the size of the larger one in the picture. The 2 piece ( for something like $8 more included that triangular piece that was smaller than it looks do to batter. The food tastes great minus the calamari (first time ordering calamari at fin city) that I just dumped in the garbage. I used to eat from here frequently, I may yet again but I won't buy a my usual 2 piece. Last time I tipped for pickup, 15$ tip before I seen the food. Looks like it was indeed a change in management. Nice to get my food in 20min instead of an hour but the quality doesn't seem to be as consistent. My review stands tho, even if I forgive the portion. I can't believe that calamari left your kitchen. Like it was splashed in oil and thrown in a box, batter was just falling off and it looked...
