Towngate Shopping Plaza — Attraction in Ottawa

Ridiculous parking situation. Love the shops here and come often, but the parking fills from the mosque next door over lunch and the other 4 prayer times. Once it's done, the parking is 75% empty. This plaza is mostly lunch spots and you can't get to them! One of the salons I visit said they have clients that have to cancel appointments all the time because clients can't find parking. The landlord needs to put customer only signs because it's seriously hurting these businesses. Now I have to book appointments around their prayer schedule...

Some great little shops here. Pampered Pet, Shawarma Station, and M & M Meats which has some to die for gluten free frozen desserts to take home. Also Bank St Animal hospital is here and they are really great and fair priced too. Wendy's too if you are hungry for that kind of food. Many gluten free options available there too for eg chili, baked potatoes, Jr bacon cheeseburgers with lettuce as the bun..I just think they need to update their look a little more. They have been pretty much the he same since I moved out here...

The mall itself is a nice mall with a good selection of small businesses, however with a new owner in the last year and a half it is seeing a slow but steady decline in upkeep. Where maintenance has been done it has taken an extra length of time to complete and not done to the standards expected of such a retail and office site. It's unfortunate that the retailers get stuck with a new landlord who is penny wise and...
