I walked into Sultan Supermarket looking for Habibi dates. They didn't have them at the time, but instead they had me try a number of varieties of dates, even opening up a new box just so I could try it. Then another gentleman brought me an already opened box of another kind and I tried it. The dates were fantastic, just what I wanted, but they didn't have anymore in stock, so he said please take this box with you. That was so thoughtful and as I had a special guest staying with me much appreciated. What I loved about Sultans most was their super friendly and welcoming atmosphere. I felt like I was in a market somewhere in the Middle East hanging out with locals just having a great time telling stories and sharing in good conversation. it was a great cultural experience as well. I met 4 different men and ended up at the cash with all of them eating dates together. I mean where can you go and find a bowl beside the cash register just for the pits from the dates. I highly recommend Sultans and thank you for making me feel right at home. Big Love...

Edit: the cashier lady is always miserable. I asked how are you and no response. Also they charge you for bags without asking if you want one. I think I will look for another place to go. Edit: normally love their meat but this time I got a chicken with the head still on. I saw the spot where they slit the throat according to dhabh but it concerns me. Are they going so fast they can’t even finish the cut? You are already standing there with the knife. I don’t want to pay for a poorly slaughtered animal.

I recently visited this Middle Eastern grocery store and was pleased with the selection they offer. They have a wonderful variety of foods, meats, spices, and desserts, which made it easy to find authentic ingredients for my cooking. The store is also very clean, and the manager goes above and beyond to engage customers and make sure they find everything they need.

However, my experience was significantly impacted by the cashier. The young woman at the register had a condescending and immature attitude, which came across as unprofessional and dismissive. She seemed bothered by the customers, almost as if doing her job or helping was an inconvenience to her.
