nice area but the security on duty her name is Melanie was so full of her self. i do understand that they have policies and procedures to follow and certain restrictions. however, for her to say more than 6 times that she will have to shut down my daughter's 1st birthday party if we exceed the number of people allowed in the room is so unprofessional. we havent even started the event and she was threatening us already. also, i'm not sure about their fire safety procedures but lighting a small single candle stick for a birthday cake is not allowed according to the security. This is one of the craziest thing i have ever heard. It didnt end there. this time the security who inspected the room after our event made us clean the tape that was left from the previous party. if they check the room after each event how come they did not see those tapes on the glass wall. the security basically blamed us. i think they should make this place a museum and stop renting it out to people to preserve its prestine structure. we will never use this place because of their below standard...

There is no pool or gym in there, those two rooms are pretty much everything in the community center.
In terms of the library, I give it 4 stars. It is smaller than average, but still has a lot of good books and has computers. There is a playing area for young kids. The staff are generous and super nice there. Although I didn't get anything because I don't have a Pickering library card, I did read some books inside of the library and there were a lot of books that I read and were pretty good.
In terms of location, I give it 5 stars. There is a local Tim Hortons at the same address in a different suite, as well as some other food options nearby, and Durham...
