I am surprised it has taken me so long to write a review of The Fox because it's practically a Sunday ritual to enjoy their $17.99 burger and pint special. I have never seen a better pub value than that. For an extra dollar or two, you can upgrade the special to any of their other burgers and I tend to oscillate between the Peppercorn Burger (swiss cheese and big onion ring) and the Montrealer (cheddar cheese, mushrooms, and BBQ sauce). I think I might change my burger choice to remain slightly mysterious and unpredictable to the attentive staff, especially Glenn the bartender who always drops by to say hello. If you like sports, screens are throughout the bar with a wall sized projector on the south side. The selection of beers should satisfy everyone. I'm an IPA person and I've got the choice of Goose Island or Mill Street. Or both :) While Sundays are surely my favourite day, there are specials throughout the week. Mondays trades the burger and pint special for a steak and pint at ten bucks more but it's a generous steak. Wednesdays are second to Sundays because it usually means a substantial fried chicken breast sandwich (please bring back the verision with crispy onions!) The Fox is the definition of a neighbourhood pub. Cozy and you always feel welcome. There is no shortage of pubs in the area but we always go back to the Fox. I say that with a big of sadness because in a few years, the commercial area will be torn down to make way for a large condo development. The Fox has a sister pub in Scarbourough called the Black Dog. Perhaps someday, it will become the new Sunday place.

The place is clean, there are lots of tvs, the waitresses are very kind, the food is good the wings are big and juicy! But every time i go I explain how I just want food and the service is just soo slow for food. 30 minutes of drink service before taking food Orders that took 40 min to come. It honestly feels like they just don’t care that i would like to order and eat because i need to go.

It's like magwyers, but with a few different beers to choose from on tap, including a few local breweries. Nice outdoor seating in the warmer weather, excellent wings and burgers, and a good number of TV's to catch the game on, and plenty more parking out back

Our family of 6 (one requiring a high chair) visited in July 6th. I had called a week prior to get a patio reservation for 1130am when they first opened and the nice woman that answered my call was and to check and confirm that they could accommodate a high chair as the table we would be reserving is one of the high top tables, not usual chair height. We arrived, signed the covid contact sheet, we're given choices of which table to choose from - was experiencing a high heat alert feeling like 37c - we picked the table that was mostly shaded (clear roof covering let light through) and got the spot with the most breeze, otherwise I think it would have been unbearable for the kids (and me 😆). The menu selection was great, it was Wing night(all day), they have a kids menu as well. We as a table got a Montrealer burger, ranch wrap (chicken), poutine, large Caesar salad, and a nachos and cheese kids meal. The only error I realized after we paid was that we were charged for a small chocolate milk which should have been included in the kids meal. Not a big deal, and after having their sales impacted by covid for so long I think I'll be okay not asking for a refund 😉 the service we received was excellent, my kids have named this their 2nd favourite place to eat (East side Mario's has their hearts at the moment from pre-covid times). We will be back, just hopefully not on another...

Joanna and crew are great

Food is excellent…. But don’t go on a Saturday

———-

So… editing my review. Saturday night I went to see the leafs play and have wings. Unfortunately the bartender Glen was totally dismissive of the customers asking to watch the leafs game rather the college basketball. The Fox always plays the leafs games as it’s good for business and a destination There was nobody watching college basketball and he basically told me to just shut up! All customers were surprised with his behavior and rudeness. I cancelled my order and went to leave and Glen kindly said “okay go get out of here”

I frequent the Fox now and then through the week and its great. I will never go back until Glen is either trained or gone.

I have heard of others saying the same regarding his behavior smugness and total disrespect for customers.

Ownership needs to...
