Ordered here based on strong reviews hadn’t realized the strong reviews are from 15 years ago forgot to filter by date. I have never seen hot and sour soup this colour it tastes like toilet paper water and black pepper? Maybe white pepper. Such a small container for $5.50. Bestco sells average hot and sour soup in a huge tub for $4.99 - tbh if it tastes good the size wouldn’t matter but it was gross. Egg roll was good but over fried and hard Beef chow mein was tasteless but not the worst I’ve had. The beef was tasteless and chewy for $18.95 it was a huge waste of money and such a small portion. Cantonese chow mien is on discount m-f for lunch for $13.95 and maybe then soggy tasteless noddles would be worth it. It did look yummy though. Edible but had to doctor it with some oyster sauce chick stock and soy sauce aka made my own beef chowmein sauce - defeats the purpose of a $20 dish. $30 total and a waste of money and calories.

I ordered take out for dinner during work break and here's what I received: $17 Chili chicken-- not special combo or family deal, just regular price dish, cause I was expecting a big box that can hold me through 12hours shift, and $3.75 rice. Plus tax in total almost $25, and when I open the bag at work my self and all others were shocked, there's literally 9 piece of chicken, yes I counted, with onions. I really really want to go back and ask the restaurant is this your regular size or just a mistake? But I can't leave my work. I understand everything's price is increasing but in my understanding this is a signal lunch special size.

Paul Wong's has been a mainstay in Pickering for many years. On a recent visit, it was actually a comfort to see that very little has changed there over the years. The koi have gotten bigger, but much else remains the same. The restaurant is spotlessly clean and the portions are generous. You certainly don't have to search for the almonds in the vegetable and almonds dish! This is probably the last place where you can still get a satisfying lunch plate for under $10.00. The egg roll, which is plump and tasty, is worth the extra expense!

A highly disappointing meal and certainly feeling scammed after this experience. Their meat products are skimpy and without quality in portion or preparation. Far too much celery as a filler, which is shameful. Of all the items I’ve ordered, barely any carrots, not even onions were found; canned mushrooms??? Really upsetting, considering they’re charging you good money. The final burn was the so-called “Spring Rolls” being filled only with bean sprouts. Here’s what I ordered:

Cantonese Chow Main, which had scarcely any shrimps, no squid, some pieces of corn and full of celery. The noodles were drowned in a starch slurry… not even a proper sauce… $18.95 Beef with Broccoli, which had more broccoli than meat. All drowned in water, so it was soggy. No garlic. Not even ginger. $16.95 Chicken fried rice but hardly any chicken in it. Tons of rice. $11.95 “Sweet and Sour” Ribs, which aren’t even ribs. They’re deep-fried breaded bones… I was told they’re Spareribs, but that was a lie. All of which were drowned in your typical sweet red sauce. $11.50 “Mixed Vegetables” which contained more celery than anything, some snap peas and a few pieces of corn and broccoli. $11.50 Spring rolls that weren’t even filled with anything other than bean sprouts… the audacity to charge $2.75 per piece.

All in all, I will never order from this place...

Went there last week with my old man. Him and his old coworkers back in the Clearnet days used to dine here all the time, and this time I finally got to check it out. Had the Cantonese chow mein with shrimp and scallops, the beef and mixed veggies, general Tao chicken, wonton soup and some chicken wings.

Everything was delicious, and large portion sizes. I wasn't expecting the large size of the pieces of shrimp or scallops. The sauce that came on the beef and veggies was so good. I ended up dipping my wings into it. The general Tao sauce was nice, not too spicy, and still a bit of crisp from corn starch coating. the wings were nice and crispy, juicy, and great flavour. I dunno how the Chinese food places get their wings to taste like that! but I need to find out.

We intended on having leftovers, which left both of us with several plates more.

Our server was great, he recognized my dad right away. I think he cooked the food aswell.. I'm not sure if it was Paul Wong himself, but whomever it was, thanks very much. I...

I haven't tried Paul Wong's for a while and decided to give them another chance. I ordered the Cantonese Chow main. There were exactly 4 of the tiniest shrimps. You could ever even imagine, in your life. In this dish, hardly any vegetables. My Gen. Tao chicken. It was only half full. The only part of the meal was the rice which was jam-packed to the top. I called and complained and whatever kind of guy I got on the phone, he could care less. And I told him I would not be ordering from there again. I have lived in Pickering for over 20 years. They had a solid reputation, but not anymore. Don't understand how they can't buy some half decent size shrimp. They were microscopic to say the least.Never, ever, ever ever ever ever ordering from there again ridiculousI felt like getting in my car and taking it back there. And giving it back to them one hundred dollars worth of food and I ate it all myself that included the driver tip as well.I can get a lot better meal for a hundred...
