I guess I don't understand the great reviews - the prices at this "duty free" location are the same if not higher than most places for things like alcohol or perfume/cologne. Sure - there are no "taxes" - but big deal. Definitely not worth the drive. The staff at this location are of the "we hate Americans" variety - and trust me - they can spot an american from a mile out. Like many Canadians - especially those that deal with Americans on a daily basis - the staff at this location seem to have a strong distaste for Americans. That may be fair, given the behavior of many Americans - but the collective attitude of the staff at this location were going to garner no better than a 3...
Read moreGreat selection of products and always friendly staff; however, management team should STRONGLY consider having a rewards points card similar to Windsor's duty free shop. Travelers have options and the fact that this duty free at Sarnia does not have a rewards points card is a strong reason to consider going elsewhere (e.g., Windsor) to start accumilating points. We live in an age where everything gives you points to keep you rewarded and engaged, especially in the world of traveling (think Delta skymiles, Marriott points, etc), so no reason this duty free doesn't have it yet. Please consider changing this! If you had a rewards points card, I'd give 5...
Read moreUghh I was a bit miffed about this location. No bargains, the prices were the same as buying at Total Wine or even Costco. The Duty Free store In Niagara /Buffalo had way better prices honestly. But I couldn't buy from there. This location is overpriced. I couldn't even afford Local made in Canada goods. Such a waste of time coming to this border crossing. It took over 30mins just to pay the toll, and after that about 20mins to get your passport scanned. Be careful when crossing into the parking lot from the toll gate, especially if you are in the extreme left lanes. The store is about the same as any other Duty Free store. It's...
