The Royal Saskatchewan Museum furthers an understanding of Saskatchewan's natural history and aboriginal cultures, past and present. It communicates that understanding through all available media, especially exhibits and publications, in a culturally and scientifically sensitive manner for the purposes of education and enjoyment. By example; Scientists have uncovered an incredible specimen in Myanmar that has given us a glimpse of life from 100 million years ago - a piece of amber containing the remarkably preserved remains of an ancient bird hatchling. Inside the amber, you can make out the head, tail, and neck of the bird, but it's the wings and feet that are the real marvels - the chunk of fossilised tree resin has perfectly preserved the bird's feathers, flesh, and claws, and gives us insight into a doomed group of prehistoric species called the 'opposite birds'. "It's the most complete and detailed view we've ever had," one of the team behind the discovery, Ryan McKellar from the Royal Saskatchewan Museum in Canada, told New Scientist.

My kids love the Royal Sk Museum. Or the Museum of Dinosaurs """ as they call it. Is opened every day. 9 30 to 5. You have to make sure from where"" you can get in the building. Because they are always changing the way. Sometimes the entrance is the exit , others, the exit is the entrance and so on....🙄🙄😵💫😵💫😵💫. But is very clean inside. You don't have to pay anything. They just ask you if you wanna donate, you can do so. As for now they are runing an environmental exposition in the gallery of the museum. Ad they have all their areas opened. Because that wasn't the case before. Lots were closed. Despite all the areas are open to public. Most of the features don't work though. Buttons are there but they do nothing when you press them. The kids keep trying in every visit. Maybe one day they'll fix them. Hopefully 😏😏😏 Sometimes we even bring our own food. And when ww finish the visit. We head to the big park in the back .. Or front ?🙄🙄🙄 of the building and do a picnic seating under the trees....

The Museum has always been one of my favorite places in the city. I'd visit often as a child and it helped to foster my love of science and learning. The addition of Eastend's own Scotty the T-Rex is an excellent upgrade from the increasingly unimpressive Mega Munch. (I wish I had taken a picture) I am disappointed by the disrepair of some of the older displays. None of the interactive learning centers are operational, the old computers are broken, keys missing from the boards. There's opportunity to breathe new life into these corners of the building. But besides those things, most of the displays remain immaculate, engaging, and breathtakingly beautiful. I still absolutely recommend everyone visit this institution and donate generously. The wax figures especially are very impressive.

The Saskatchewan Museum offers an engaging and educational experience, showcasing the rich cultural and natural history of the region. TrexThe exhibits are well-curated, featuring interactive displays that captivate both children and adults. The staff are knowledgeable and friendly, always ready to provide additional insights and answer questions. The museum is well-maintained and provides a welcoming atmosphere, making it an enjoyable visit for families and tourists alike. The Saskatchewan Museum features an impressive T. rex exhibit that brings the prehistoric era to life with detailed displays and educational information. My son loved it, so amazing. Overall, it's a must-visit destination for anyone interested in exploring Saskatchewan's heritage. Recommended !!!

A small but clean and well-maintained museum. informative to know about Earth, including extinct creatures roaming 700 to 100 M years ago, like dinosaurs. World's largest T.Rex discovered so far ( Scotty, from Saskatchewan, Canada) is present on First Floor. Shifting of SK Province towards North Pole is controversial. Galleries on Biodiversity, aminals n birds in different phases in the past ,first Nation Life style n culture are interesting. Free Entry ( Donations optional ) is appropriate and appreciated. Excellent sequencing of movement throughout has been maintained. Guide is not required. Wish that the auditorium is opened soon and lawn in front of main entry is kept flowery. Recommended for visit and picnic at Wascana Centre in front of museum.
