I had had several great experiences here, but the last one was so bad that I will be telling my friends to find a new brunch spot. Get ready for a long post.

Our order was not put in. After a long wait and seeing the table that was seated after we ordered getting their food, I flagged down who I believe is one of the managers and maybe owners. I told her this and her response was “it depends how the waitress put your order in” which does not make any sense. She went to speak with our waitress and they were looking at us and you could tell, scrambling. Our waitress came to talk to us and said that the kitchen had lost our order and asked us what we ordered, incorrectly guessing. (Please just write orders down in the future). The manager/owner came back and told us that the waitress didn’t put the order in and that they will rush it. Our waitress came back and said that we would get our meals for free. Our meals were underwhelming. The potatoes weren’t cooked well and were not seasoned. I had to salt my eggs, which I rarely do at a restaurant. When the manager came to take the payment, she only gave us 25% off. This has been one of the only times I have not tipped in years. I don’t like the miscommunication about discounts and I don’t like that the manager/owner threw her waitress under the bus and that the waitress didn’t admit her mistake and threw the kitchen under the bus. Clearly, something is wrong with the whole staff and communication.

TL;DR our order was not put in, we got mediocre food after I had to flag the owner down, and the staff didn’t take accountability nor really make...

We waited awhile to be seated, but yes they were busy. That's not the issue, the issue was when we sat down we ordered fairly quickly - food and drinks - we got the drinks fairly quick, and that is where things went down.

After we ordered, we're pretty sure our server just completely forgot to relay our food order to the kitchen because as we sat there, we watched as food kept coming out and then we saw the people ahead of us get their food, pay and leave before we had any food. Then we watched as a group that arrived after us received their order and their food long before we had anything. In fact, we never even got cutlery! Someone told us they'd get it and never provided anything.

We asked what the delay was and they blamed it on "a new chef" - far from the truth! If it was a new chef how the heck was food able to leave the kitchen steadily and the group who were seated LONG after we were? We knew we had been forgotten about because eventually our server came over to check for refills and the look on her face screamed "oh! I forgot their order!"

We eventually left without food because we had waited close to an hour and a half (1.5 hours!). We explained our disappointment at the cash and they were still prepared to charge us for the coffees and pop and then once again blamed it on a new chef saying that their chef was behind on orders... Once again, how is that possible when people who were seated after us still got their orders long after we had long placed out orders.

Needless to say, we were absolutely disappointed...

I used to go every Saturday but boy has it gone down hill. Decided to try and give it another go and I will NEVER go back. Starting off strong, I asked the server what the toast options were and she said “yes”I then had to ask again “can you tell me the options? And this is kind of how the rest of the meal went. When food arrived the entire tables breakfast was cold, the eggs were cooked inconsistently and the bacon was undercooked. My eggs Benedict was very undercooked and watery. I showed the server and she said “oh” finally she brought it back, only to bring my dirty plate with cold “hashbrowns” (more like a poor man’s unseasoned and undercooked scalloped potato) and a lecture from the chef about how the egg is cooked but if i insist they will remake it. I waited 15 minutes for the server to bring me a poached egg… no English muffin, Hollandaise or smoked salmon. The server asked me if this was fine. I had to explain that I paid $21 for eggs Benedict, not a cold poached egg. 20 minutes later the Benedict came back out. I explained how this was an unpleasant experience and i would like to talk to a manager not the poor teenage server in over her head. No manager came, and I was charged full price for an undercooked tasteless meal, and frankly rude service. Seriously it was comically bad. 10/10 do not recommend. You could not pay me to eat there again.

I will say however, the...

Finally managed to get down to @freshandsweet for brunch ! We got in before @queencitypride parade and fuelled up! I ordered the Chicken Waffles and Iced Matcha. The chicken waffle was different than one would expect, but it was ABSOLUTELY delicious. I appreciate the flavours of the chicken filling and the crispiness of the hashbrowns. My only complaints are with the drink. Matcha tasted good, but not because it tasted like matcha. I believe there needed to be more matcha flavour than there was. The choice of ice was also annoying. Crushed iced and a paper straw isn’t a good combination. Ice just ends up stuck in your straw. I would highly recommend the chicken waffles. And their fresh pressed juice. I could taste that their juice was fresh pressed before I even read that it was fresh pressed. All in all, for about $25 before tip for a meal and a specialty drink? That ain’t bad in this economy. Especially when it tastes amazing.

Visited this place for the first time Sunday October 2. I've heard mixed reviews from people but decided to meet some friends for breakfast. Ordered the eggs Benedict and it was completely underwhelming. First of all, fried eggs on a Benny when the menu clearly states they are poached. I could have got past that, had the eggs not been horribly chewy from being overcooked. Second, the potatoes are just awful. Greasy and absolutely zero seasoning. The salt you see is what I added. Third, the ham under the overcooked eggs (unfortunately forgot to take a picture) was gross and had gelatinous pockets of fat. Also sort of minor, but I ordered coffee and was brought just that. Had to request a spoon and cream from the waitress after flagging her down afterwards. So did the gentleman behind me. For a $22 breakfast I will not be back. I will also never recommend it to anyone.

Talk about fresh & sweet when in reality you get unloved & unflavored. I came here bc we usually go for breakfast somewhere else which now thinking about It I regret coming to this place. It seems fun and cozy with lots of people but with all the whispers you soon learn that the chef should have stayed a dishwasher bc it's a sad lie who told them they have the right to cook breakfast as sad as the eggs to the ham to the potatoes I am devastated this place has such good reviews I mean then again the sweet are good but if you want decent eggs ham or bacon or hash browns with toast do not come here. Also definitely not worth the money.
