This company is run by power driven people. I do not recommend them as they have very high expectations throughout the least agreement. First, their leases are group leases so there is no expectation of individual locks on personal rooms and everyone is responsible for rent if someone decides to leave. The property management also disregarded anything ever talked about over the phone or in person. If it is not written down then there is no proof of conversation thus, the property managaement will deny all conversations and previously agreed upon actions. Another, is that they expect cosigners for all people on the lease. That is usual, however they have no intentions on civilaly communication with the cosigner in serious situations that involve immediate solutions. Something a severe as abuse from roommates, mental or physical, is something the property management does not help or care about. They would disregard the conversations on talked about in person as well as say things like "just get through it" or "there's nothing we can do". They only care about getting paid without confrontation or solving problems, that being said, I had two checks cashed in one month so beware of what checks are coming out of your bank account. Lastly, they expected the house to be spotless after moveout, even though the house was filthy when we moved in. The people living in the house previous to us had not even moved out by our move on date, and they were also trying to move in their belongings before the lease was up. As for damages and costs for repairs as all landlords check before tenants move out, the property management is trying to charge the group for oil stains on the driveway(no oil changes we done on the driveway) and stainless steel appliances that had marks on them (less than what was there when we moved in). That being said, considering it is a group lease to rent from the property management, that means damages are charged to everyone in the house. The cost is split between all the tenants and "even if someone admits it was their doing, and then does not pay, everyone is charged the costs" -Marandola property management
For those of you who took the time to read this, I advise you not to sign with this property management if you are living with people you do not know, or do not want to be stuck in a lease. Believe me I tried everything to get out, but without the stress of legal action. It's not worth the stress, anxiety and abuse to sign with...
Read moreI’m disappointed to hear some of the negative comments towards Team Marandola. I understand that some of your complaints are legit but the fact of the matter is, that as property managers they are only able to do as much as the property owners allow them to. They relay info to the owners and if the owner/s choose not take action or don’t take action in a reasonable timeframe it looks bad on the managers...
As an owner of several rentals over the past 10 years I can tell you that Minna and his team have always communicated issues and concerns on behalf of the tenants. I usually go to my rentals to perform repairs and to address concerns relayed to me from property management and I ask the tenants how they feel about the residence and the management team, I have rarely had a negative comment.
Please take into consideration the dynamics of this business and the amount of effort and hard work it takes to run it successfully for as long as Minna and his team has.
I would highly recommend using Team Marandola to manage your property or to find you a place to rent. There’s no one I know in the business that has the experience and knowledge to meet your needs in this market better than they...
Read moreIf you're a Brock student looking for a rental option, under no circumstances should you consider Marandola Property Management. My roommates and I had several significant issues with them during our lease. They were very unresponsive to most issues and took several weeks/months to address issues such as appliances breaking down. Our emails went mostly ignored. When we would call and follow-up on the status of repairs we received rude customer service from the admin staff at the office.
On one occasion they entered the property with absolutely no notice, which is illegal. On other occasions they attempted to provide less than 24 hours notice of entry. When questioned about their unacceptable and at times illegal business practices, the owner Italo was very aggressive and threatened to evict us or remove our property from the rental unit, despite the errors being all on Marandola's administrative side.
I recommend that you look elsewhere as there are many other rental options in Thorold/St. Catharines for students where you will get ethical and responsible treatment from...
