Did not enjoy walking into the dog park or around it! a lot of people do not clean up there dogs poop if u walk through the path all the way around at least 15 piles of poop I had to walk by. There are alot of dogs that come there the owners don't take control of there dog! Unless they take the name to serious "freedom dog park" it still supposed to be enjoyable for anyone but it's not for everyone! I have been nipped on my fingers tryed to throw a stick and that's what happened. People are so unaware that there dogs are aggresive, they think it's normal( it's not). My dog is almost attacked or intimidated every time I have brought him there maybe 2 of 10 times it was a ok experience. Last time I went the was a great Dane looked like a horse compared to my dog 40lbs and sure was intimidating as my dog was being chased down and ended up between me and my sons stroller hiding and whoever the owner was the people just sat there on the bench like it's normal staring !!! We left right away as I also felt completely uncomfortable .. it really is supposed to be a pleasant park from the reviews I guess it's a hit or miss depending on the people. A really good dog park go to crescent beach always a...
Read morebeware! A dark black German Sheppard looking dog is extremely aggressive. we arrived and noticed a dog was on leash with its handler, it was snapping at any dog that came near it. they continued to walk through the forest path assuming that that dog was still on leash. apparently the owner (or person that brought the dog there) let that dog off leash. 20 mins went by and we were making our way to leave via the path, sure enough that German Sheppard was coming around the bend. My friendly dog ran over to say hi and play. Well it took a turn for the worse and that Sheppard completely attacked my dog! Trampled and bit him multiple times, Luckily my dog didn't receive any injuries looks like his collar saved him from any repairs needed. That collar is torn now. The person handling the Sheppard didn't seem to have a care in the world and continued to let that dog run around off leash snapping at other dogs. The owner must be in their 50's? salt and pepper hair.
don't want to post a bad review about the park itself, but hoping to get the world out of negligent owners miss-handling their pets/ ones who should be off leash...
Read moreGreat park in my opinion. The park has a nice open part to it where you can throw the ball with your dog or just let it run around and explore. The open part has a covered picnic table area where you can and let your dog run, they also have some benches to sit at as well. The park also has some trails in the back of it that connect in a big circle that has plenty of bush for your dog to explore if they like that. My dog loves both areas so I just walk the path/trail and she follows and explores along the way. This park has a fountain for the dogs which I've found not ever park has. It's a gravel parking lot but there is usually a couple spots on the street adjacent to it. Never had a problem finding parking dispute the fact the lot is...
