I’ve driven by this place a couple times without really thinking about it because I, like most people in the city already have my favourite donair places (personally, traditional mom & pop shops and donair dude). And I’m slightly picky (must be flavourful, not overly salty or dry, with more toppings than just lettuce, tomato & onion). What can a girl say, I like what I like 🤷🏽♀️
BUT lemme tell you, this placeee is fireee, and just took top spot! They have such an original menu with several options that have modern twists, veggie options, unique sides and the a variety of mouthwatering toppings. And the only place I’ve seen here in BC that has curry & flaming fries other than indian shops. Sorry did I forget to mention, 3 different kind of sauces (garlic, sweet/spicy/chipotle-esque, yogurt) that were all delicious and included in cute little to go cups.
The paying and seating is similar to a nando’s style arrangement where you order and pay at the till and then sit down & they bring it to you OR wait for your to go order. TIP THEM when you pay (even for take out because yenno covid times) because bet, you are going to like the food and service. We were a group of 4 that sat down and Aditya (man deserves a raise) came and checked on us atleast 3 times (brought things we forgot to ask for with no problem and such a happy attitude) and cleared away rubbish as we finished things. Service is top notch, everyone was so friendly, food came out in no time and was super fresh. Theres even wet wipes for your hands for after you’re done eating! LIKE WHAT?! Totally made my bougee self feel deep inner peace.
Not the biggest location so if you go at a busy time you might not get seating. The tables/booths are well spaced apart with plexiglass dividers as well. But that is awesome for covid precautions, super clean, staff was well kept and with masks. I think they’re gonna need a bigger location pretty soon because this place is honestly amazing. Get prepared for a food coma, because portion sizes are good as well (yes, even for full grown men). Just try it if you’re on the fence, you’ll be converted from your...
Read more02/19/25 I went in at 11:36am, 2 tables waiting on their order. I put my order in sat down for take out. Cashier stayed up front for a bit and then walked to the back and then Brought out food for the 2 tables that were waiting. (They weren’t busy) I was sitting there staring at my phone, for about 10 to 15mins, look up no one is at the front counter. Walked up to the cashier and looked in the back, cashier, cook and 3rd person standing chatting and on their phones. A Lady, other than the person who served me comes up front and is wondering why I am up there I tell her I am waiting for my order. I hear them speak in their language which I understand, They say “oh we are making it”, as I look back there they just started to make it as I was talking tot he lady. I ask why they didn’t make it, because the first girl that took my order didn’t complete the transaction to spit out the ticket for the cook. When I ask for the manager’s number to make a complaint, the lady I was speaking to says “I am the manager”. I ask her” if this is how she runs a business as a manager??? “She was lost for words when I told her, the 3 of you were sitting in the back, talking and on your phones. This is ridiculous. When they first opened great service now, they don’t care. I left the place with my food at 11:51am, for just a panini. Which took them 3 mins to make while I was watching them. Sorry to say, hiring international student/ work visa this is what’s ruining the customer service industry. I am from an Indian decent. My father came here and worked hard. These new students are just not appreciative of the opportunity they have to support themselves and their families back home.
Sorry but this is ridiculous. Serves name was Amanjot. If the owner is reading this. Sorry but had to give you a bad review for the bad customer service.
Manager gave me a cash refund. And I...
Read moreDecided to try this place due to recent hype...photos below...here's my review:
Location 2 out of 5...horrible parking and entrance options Food 4 out of 5 tried the German beef doner extra spicy. Wasn't that spicy and it cost me extra 50 cent so save yourself the 50 cent and just add spicy sauce from elsewhere...10 times buying extra spicy sauce and you can buy a decent bottle of hot sauce for $5 ...just saying...meat was sliced thin and well marinated...you have no options for veggies and basically at the mercy of the one making your doner...mine had some onions and sliced tomatoes! I didn't mind it as the layers of thin sliced beef took over the taste buds very well. Their sauces were tahini like and not bad overall. The bread was a good twist from the original pita bread style...this bread almost looked like a waffle 🧇 😋... Service: 4 out of 5...the employee taking my order wasn't sure of their own menu and I had to show her from a paper menu. Maybe she was new. The electronic vibrating disk was a good touch as you don't have to linger inside the store and can wait in your car or outside as it will vibrate once your order is ready... Cleanliness: 4 out of 5...the food prep area was clean and employees wore masks and gloves as well as hairnets. Washroom had a broken dryer in the men's room and no paper towels...employees should at least ensure there is paper towels in the WC when the dryer is OOO...🙄 Overall 4 out 5 and I give the beef doner a thumbs up...maybe they can work on their hot sauce... If the location was in a more convenient and easy to get to spot I'd frequent there often...but def a try if you haven't... they also serve Halal meat for...
