Tourism Tofino - Visitor Centre — Attraction in Tofino

We stopped into the tourism center twice while camping in Tofino to get assistance on finding a camping spot and again to get recommendations for restaurants. Both times we met Araiya who went above and beyond for us and left such a great impression, she had remembered us from the day before and followed up on the advice she had given us which was a nice touch! Araiya was so approachable and incredibly attentive; she offered for us to borrow the phone when she noticed we were having trouble with cell signal, and preemptively gave us information on the road works when I mentioned we were going to leave Tofino that night (I had completely forgotten about the road works so that was super helpful!). Friendly and helpful with maps and recommendations! Need to have paperwork in place for tax exception on clothing. Bought for my 12 and 10 year old boys who shouldn’t need to pay tax on their hoodies/sweatshirt but was told they couldn’t be no taxed when asked. Otherwise products are cute and seem to be good quality!

Have to update our review and give an extra star. Didn’t expect it but Jess the supervisor reached out and got us a refund on the tax and reviewed with staff who were unaware of the exception. It was unexpected and a nice surprise to make our trip to Tofino perfect and pleasant one after almost 2 years of no travels due to the pandemic. Beautiful town and Area. Sadly everything is seriously overpriced, over taxed and over regulated including parking and accomodations. The Woke town council is flip flopping on regulations of everything including Short Term Rentals. This uncertainty is pushing small businesses away and pricing tourists out of the market. We rebooked after our trip last summer and have just been advised that due to council and provincial regulation flip flop changes our accomodation host just cancelled our high season summer reservation. We won't be returning ever. Consider another destination this summer and the next we are. They claim they dont have enough water to flush and dont want you there anyway.
