The place itself is OK..... my ONLY hope and wish for them is to do EVERYTHING they most possibly can to allow for Price Chopper to renain within the mall.... I ask this of them as Price Chopper is MUCH more than JUST A SUPERMARKET.... they are in fact an UNQUESTIONED and UNRIVALLED institution within the mall, they have the BEST people, BEST service, the BEST deals and hell, even the good folks at Sobey's who in fact own Price Chopper itself, they both LISTEN TO and IMPLEMENT the ideas one would bring forth.... for example, being of the Hindu faith, we do have a period of fasting and worship where we honour the souls and memories of family members and friends no longer with us, and as part of that period, our diets are restricted eliminating things from our diets, such as grains, garlic, onions and regular salts such as iodized, kosher etc. (replaced in that time with pink salt). I believe it would have been in about 2009 / 2010 or so when I Emailed Sobey's about this and in response they, as well as the good folks at Miss Vickie's would both introduce the unsalted kettle chips to the masses out there.... Also, during the holiday season... I purchase from them, plenty of mushroom soups together with the accompaniying fresh 'shrooms and plenty of fresh butter so that I can make a most special soup to enjoy with a Pepsi or two on Christmas Eve while CTV would be presenting the 1951 Scrooge for us all.... I would TRULY hate seeing such a great institution and shopping venue be taken away from us like this... and in such an UNFAIR manner..... those of you who are reading this and who also shop for groceries at the Price Chopper, please don't be silent on this..... do let both Bridlewood as well as Price Chopper know how you feel.... obviously, if we are to all come together to speak our minds on this.... we could surely move mountains and perhaps convince Bridlewood to reverse whatever evil plans they might have in mind... and in fact, invite the Price Chopper to stay where...
Read moreBridlewood mall, located at the North-West corner of Warden & Finch Avenues, a two level mall, was once a busy hub of social and shopping activities with its many stores, restaurants, bank, etc. These days, it's not as busy with the departure of the Zeller's store and now the impending departure of the Stitches store that occupy the same space.
There are still a number of stores that are popular on the first floor such as Metro which is opened 12 hours daily where you can get your groceries, hot food, lottery tickets, vacuum cleaners/steamers for rent and more. There's also the McDonald's and the Chinese food restaurant. Other stores on the first floor include Shopper's Drug Mart, Sports good stores, shoe and handbag stores, fashion clothing stores, ethnic clothing stores, a hair salon, hardware store, lottery and jewelry kiosks, and a bank.
On the second floor, there's a Roger's store, Price Chopper grocery store, an electronics store, Pizza Pizza, Stitches, food court, washrooms and more. Parking is plentiful and easy and situated around the entire premises. Second floor is accessed from the first floor via escalators. The mall can be entered and exited by automobile via the Warden and Bridletowne...
Read moreThis place used to be great, but it's sad that a lot of stores here closed down. I've visited this place since my early childhood, back when there was still a Zellers, and KFC - both being among some of the many that moved out. The most recent one is Price Choppers, so now I'm stuck with buying the higher-end pricey groceries from Metro (previously named Dominion's). On the bright side, news is that there will be a new Asian grocery market opening up here, there's a Dollarama and Popeyes that opened up several years ago here. So it's a bittersweet memory here. It's quite a small mall, with very easy navigation across 2 floors. Very handicapped friendly with providing parking, doors and elevators. During seasonal events, the mall is decorated and is full of activities that are fun for the kids and the family! I remember there being the holiday Santa photo booth, a Comicon and Dinosaur exhibit among other events. There's 2 cafeterias here, though closed down due to COVID restrictions. Limited customers allowed in stores too, so plan accordingly on when to visit. I find it to be less busy before 2PM on weekdays, and early morning on weekends. Worth a visit for shopping essentials, but I don't come here...
