Christie Pits Park offers several ways to spend quality time throughout the year with family, friends, or simply alone between downtown Toronto and the larger green space, High Park. There are well-defined areas to play baseball, softball, soccer, hockey, basketball or table tennis. Some fields are equipped with lights. There’s a large outdoor pool, children’s playground with a wading pool, and washrooms.
The entire park sits below street level which makes it very easy to view the activity around it. The main baseball diamond, Dominico Park, offers an excellent view of games especially the ones played by the Toronto Maple Leafs of the Intercounty Baseball League. Be aware of flying balls if you successfully find a nearby parking spot during these outings. A snack bar is usually open during these games, but there’s not shortage of eateries along Bloor Street West and surrounding neighbourhoods.
There are other events like the Christie Pits Film Festival that bring the community together especially in the summertime.
