Russian Orthodox Cathedral of Christ the Saviour — Attraction in Toronto

This church has simply changed my life. From 6 years old I attended this church every week on Saturdays. It is absolutely the most loving, warming and friendly people. Unfortunely I didn’t get to visit after Отец Олег, but hands down! I’ve personally seen this church bend over backwards to help community. Huge example: when the earthquake happened in Haiti years ago, I remember we were still very young, the church has welcomed at least 100+ people probably more from Haiti to provide them with emergency shelter. We spend the whole day getting prepared for their arrival. This church goes above and beyond for their community. Doesn’t matter whether you attended church before or if it’s your first time, the moment you walk in those doors, they welcome you with open arms, and it guides you through anything you’re unsure of or unfamiliar with. I’ve gone to this church for probably over 8 years every Saturday! And after witnessing so many weddings and baptisms, there is not one time I can remember someone not walking out that those doors with a smile. Thank you for teaching me everything I know ! Это тихое и спокойное место для молитвы. Ощущение покоя проходит через все ваши пять чувств, когда вы ощущаете запахи, слышите распев духовенства и хора, видите и поклоняетесь прекрасным иконам, прикосаетесь и ощущаете присутствие Святого Духа. За мои 50 лет в этом приходе, я опечален тем, что кто-то хочет принизить церковь. Прощение - основа нашей веры. Я молюсь, чтобы они нашли спокойствие в их сердцах, и им хватило мудрости обрести веру, надежду и любовь в их душах. Христос вокресе! Воистину воскресе!

This is a calm and tranquil place of worship. The feeling of peace flows through all your five senses as you smell the scents, hear the sounds of the clergy and choir, see and venerate the beautiful icons, touch and taste the presence of the Holy Spirit. In my 50 years at this parish, I am saddened by those who may want to berating the church. Forgivness is the basis of out faith. I pray that they may find peace in their heart through wisdom by faith, hope and love. Christ is Risen! Indeed...

Очень люблю этот храм и приходим мы сюда всей семьей. Отец Василий- наидобрейший и наичестнейший священник. Противно читать грязную ложь которую распространяют о нем в интернете.Однако прихожане прекрасно знают как на самом деле обстоят дела в храме и откуда сыпятся эти мерзкие пасквили. Также очень странно видеть как удаляются с сайта положительные отзывы о храме и о людях в нем.

I love this temple very much and we come here with the whole family. Father Basil is the kindest and most honest priest. It is disgusting to read the dirty lies that are spread about him on the Internet. However, the parishioners are well aware of how things really are in the temple and where these vile accusations are from. It is also very strange to see that positive reviews about the temple and people in it being removed...
