This is hands down one of my favourite places to eat. The food has always been fresh and tasty. I missed lunch purposely today to leave room for my much anticipated meal. After eating and feeling quite content, I made an effort to leave some food behind for lunch the next day. I asked for a take out container and specifically requested a little sauce container for my yummy dipping garnishment sauce as I still had a good amount of on the table. To my surprise and astonishment I was told I had to pay for the baby container. I questioned why I had to pay for an empty container, I was advised that I could not be provided with a take out container for my leftover sauce. She stated I could pay for a container of fresh sauce. I attempted to clarify… “ I have to pay for the sauce I already paid for?” She clarified for me alright that I did not purchase any sauce. It was as offered with the meal and if I had wanted it to take home with my chicken, rice and plantain I would have to pay. Instantly, I felt annoyed, disrespected as a customer after spending over $65.00. I was left speechless literally and she made sure she gave me a big smile and wished me a great evening. I left thinking it would be a long time before I would return there again. This staff member could have easily provided me with the garnishment container this time and advised me of any policy changes moving forward. I had been provided with this garnishment container several times before. Update: I had requested a call back from the owner. He returned my call and listened to my complaint. He apologized for what happened and stated he understood my concern and advised that he would speak to staff. They earned back some stars. I will return now.

A Disastrous Dining Experience at La Bella Managua La Bella Managua, once a cherished spot for me, has left a bad taste in my mouth based on our recent visit, a cataclysmic departure from any previous positive experiences. From the moment we stepped through the door, it was evident that something was amiss. Despite the restaurant being busy, a fifteen-minute wait turned into an agonizing ordeal, only rectified by our proactive intervention. Once seated, our order was met with indifference. A simple request for additional utensils for our shared soup was met with outright refusal and a baffling suggestion of extra charges. It’s disheartening to witness such a blatant disregard for customer needs. The service was rushed and impersonal, with plates snatched away before we'd finished our meals. The audacity to clear away an unfinished drink, including its contents, is simply beyond comprehension. To add insult to injury, a waitress’s carelessness resulted in her tray being spilled on me. It’s evident that La Bella Managua has forgotten the essence of hospitality. The once magical ambiance has been replaced by a rushed and impersonal dining environment. We are heartbroken to bid farewell to a place we once loved, but this experience has irrevocably damaged our perception of the restaurant. It’s clear that patron loyalty is taken for granted, and it’s time for La Bella Managua to remember that customers are the lifeblood of any business.

When we walked into this restaurant, we were instantly enveloped by the sounds, smells and vibe of the place. The atmosphere was authentic, warm and friendly. The cocktails were delightful and fresh. I tried a freshly made chia and lemon juice and it was refreshing and unique. The fish ceviche was fresh but a little too sweet and had a tomato sauce undertone, quite different from how a typical ceviche would taste. The fried calamari was lightly dusted and delicately fried, it was excellent. The mixed appetizers featured fried cheese and fried plantains. They were authentic and tasty. The main courses were delicious but not outstanding. The rice and beans in the carne asada was a little dry. The garlic rice in the carmarones a la sabana was fragrant and flavourful. The butter fries shrimps were plump and juicy. But the overall seasoning of the dish was a little mild. Overall, this meal was great, and it was just the type of South American flavours we were looking for that night!

⚠️ BE AWARE CUSTOMERS WHEN ORDERING ⚠️ Terrible Customer Service & Dishonest Practices

I’ve been a loyal customer for over 15 years, but this was by far the worst experience I’ve had. Extremely disappointed in Manager Vere, who was completely unaware of how her own take-out system works — shocking for a manager. Super rude and not knowledgeable.

I accidentally placed a double order because the first one didn’t appear on Uber Eats app or I didn’t get a text or notification right away. Placed another order and noticed there was 2 of the same order. Within one minute, I realized the mistake and immediately called the restaurant (Bella Managua). They told me they couldn’t cancel or refund — which is completely false. I’ve worked in restaurants before, and I know any merchant can cancel directly through the Uber Eats merchant app before accepting the order.

I called back again and was told the same thing — that I had to “go through Uber.” Uber support later confirmed that the restaurant can cancel before food prep begins. A short while later, the manager called back claiming they “couldn’t cancel because the chef said so” and that “they would get charged if they cancelled.” Crazy ! When we cancel the resturant will still get a cut they have to pay them anyways. they are claiming they won’t make any money from it. Bullshit they do takes a cut once an order is completed.

I gave enough notice — the order was placed at 7:30 PM and I called at 7:31 PM. They told me the food was already made in five minutes, which is impossible for such a large order (and if it were true, it would raise questions about authenticity).

In the end, I was charged full price for both orders, even though I caught the error immediately and followed all proper steps. Neither Uber nor the restaurant took accountability.

The customer service was rude, dismissive, and the food quality has noticeably declined — the cerdo con yuca was honestly inedible.

🚫 Be very careful before ordering from Bella Managua. They don’t value long-term customers and clearly prioritize profit over...

Tried this restaurant for the first time and I understand how it's managed to stay in business for 19+ years.

Our group tried a variety of dishes. The daily special (deep fried whole fish) was the best one. The fish was succulent and had a light taste, despite being deep fried. The grilled chicken was tender and lightly seasoned. I would have preferred a little more flavour for this main course. If you order one of the beef/steak mains, be sure to tell the staff how you want your course prepared - the default is well done. Everyone was pleased with the calamari and ceviches appetizers. The ceviche was particularly noteworthy because it had all of the flavour without being overly marinated.

What I loved most about my meal, though, were the sides that came with the main course. Often, restaurants will add in a few veggies or place the main on top of a carb and these items won't be anything special, they're just meant to decorate the plate and may look pretty but don't taste very good. That is not the case with La Bella Managua! I tried the rice & beans, plaintain (both fried and chips), avocado salad and cabbage salad. All were delicious! The avocado salad was bursting with flavor from the bell peppers, onions and avocado. I thought "cabbage salad" was a fancy way of saying cole slaw but the delicate seasonings used are much tastier than the mayo (or vinegar) often used in coleslaw, this salad truly belongs in a class of its own!

Due to the generous portions of sides given, the meal is well balanced nutritionally. The amount of food given also makes the price for main courses reasonable and affordable. For smaller appetities, a main course could be enough for 2 meals.

Service was reasonable, given how busy the restaurant is. Note that the restaurant will automatically add gratuity to bills for large groups. Although the restaurant is able to accommodate large groups, the space is more conducive for...
