Entertaining.
I was in this location last week and there was a confrontation between a staff member and a customer.
Went like this.
Setting. - hot day hot store, long line, one cashier. I'm in line between a guy stocking the impulse items at the front, Suckers to be exact, and a customer behind me.
Customer, not overly rude but slightly exasperated with the line "hey, maybe you could worry about the suckers later and get this line moving"
Worker, visually angry immediately, "do you work? DO YOU WORK???" To customer.
Customer. "I do"
Worker. "Well, do people come to your work, customers, and tell you what to do??!
Customer " they do"
Worker "well, cashier knows what she's doing! If she needs help she'll call for help!!" I'm not even on the clock! I'm doing this on my time!
Customer, upset now at the confrontational tone "you're a good guy, a hero but maybe settle down"
Worker, seriously, angry now. "Whatever, have a nice day, don't talk to me"
Customer. "Ok whatever"
Worker, mumbles to customer behind one he had confronted
Customer, "what did you say?"
Worker " i wasn't talking to you!!"
Customer " what's your name, sir"
Worker "i wasn't talking to you, I'm not telling you my name!"
Customer, "it's ok. I'll find out"
Worker, "whatever"
So, yeah. Was interesting. Hot day, hot head worker. The customer was just being a regular customer.. Complaining a bit and the worker tripped out.
There was a little more, on both sides bit this i...
Read moreIt's a good Dollarama but when I was last there a few days ago I was very disappointed to see an employee walking all over the store, at times passing by very close to me, and not wearing a mask at all. She was wearing a face shield but it was angled upwards and not covering her mouth fully whatsoever. I understand that face shields are useful and important but they do NOT supplement a mask. We are in the middle of a pandemic and store employees should not be allowed to be so blatantly violating COVID government protocols. Not to mention that there was another customer allowed into the store who similarly was wearing an even smaller plastic face shield, held far away from her mouth and by no means stopping the spread of water droplets or other particles. Fine, I understand if you can't control what people are wearing coming into the stores, but for an employee to not be wearing a mask at all is beyond...
Read moreThe pros: Dollarama is a great place for quick shopping trips. You can find almost everything from home and garden items, arts & crafts to some grocery products, electronics accessories, party supplies and more. The cons: Don't expect high quality on these items and if you are buying things like electronics accessories or garden tools or any other higher end products then you're best to spend a bit more money and get good quality items from elsewhere. I purchased some garden tools from here and they broke the first time I used them and my headphones didn't last much longer. A total waste of money. I won't buy things like this from Dollarama again but I will certainly continue to buy things like party supplies, cards, cotton balls, etc. because the price is good and I don't need these to last...
