This space really has a ways to go if the city is going to go so far as to designate it a "nature preserve." As of now I'd say the designation amounts to basic green-washing, and little more. The area is noticeably strewn with litter, and there isn't much evidence of efforts by the city to maintain it (beyond mowing the grass in parts). I haven't noticed much encouragement of healthy ecological reclamation as with other areas throughout the GTA, nor any promotion of the area as a green space for the community. I grew up in the area and still head there to fish occasionally, but I can't honestly promote it as a worthwhile visit. The fish and wildlife species just don't seem very diverse or healthy compared to other similar bodies of water in Toronto. There's great potential as many similar urban reservoirs throughout Canada and the US have shown, but it really needs more in the way...
Read moreThe G. Lord Ross Reservoir is a peaceful spot for nature lovers and outdoor enthusiasts. Surrounded by greenery, it offers scenic walking trails and great opportunities for birdwatching. The reservoir itself is serene, perfect for a quiet stroll or a reflective moment by the water. It’s a hidden gem, away from the busier parks, providing a tranquil escape. While it’s less known, the calm atmosphere and natural beauty make it well worth the visit. Parking is limited, so arriving early is recommended for the best experience. A great spot for relaxation and...

It is a good place to go for a walk/bike ride (however it feels quite desolated at times) but doesn't have any infrastructure as a park, which is a pity. some garbage on the shore, water looks...
