It's possible to drive through this park along the west side of the Humber River. We took the entrance off Dundas St West - there are a few parking spots here if you'd rather walk - stopped halfway down to watch a patient heron, and a few salmon trying to swim upstream. One almost made it! There are public washrooms (open May to October). Park benches. Parking is allowed along the side of the road.
We exited at Old Mill Trail. Old Mill Subway Station is a 5 minute walk from here. Between Dundas St.West and Old Mill on the west side is vehicular access and parking, while the east side has walking and cycling trails. The river has carved out 100 foot cliffs on each side, heavily wooded and home to much wildlife. In late October the salmon return up the river to spawn and makes incredible viewing. Read moreA large. Beautiful park along the Humber River. Easy to get to from Bloor St. And Plenty of public parking. There are canoe and kayak rental all summer under the subway train bridge. A lot of people fish and the salmon run up in fall, which is gun to see. The river is not suitable for swimming. There's Home Smith Road on the west side of the river and a bike path and separate pedestrian path on the east side. The west side is lit at night, the east is not.
