A friend told me about this place about a year ago when e we were talking about vegan restaurants. I’ve been meaning to come for the longest time. And I’m so happy I finally did. The second I walked in I was greeted by Karen, the owner and mastermind behind the vegan culinary brilliance. She was energetic and kind and immediately introduced me to her creations — coconut curry and Veggie purée soups du jour, mild golden curry (pictured, half eaten), medium spice peanut curry, and squash red lentil stew. She also detailed her salads and hand made treats, including vegan ice cream for the hotter weather.

The curry was delicious with exactly the perfect blend of texture and taste. The tabuleh (picture) a lovely mild flavour to compliment the main dish. And the died fruit date ball treat in still on my to-do list but I’m impatiently eager to demolish it. I also grabbed some dark maple brittle for friends.

The price is very modest for the quantity and quality you’re getting. I will be back!

With today being international women's day, I thought what better time to recognize a female owned business who is 5 star in every category possible! First visit was today, place was spotless clean, meals were packaged exceptionally well, a huge variety to choose from, plant based with no oil for majority of the menu, and the tipping point of making this place exceptional is the owner! Karen greeted me with a smile, had my order ready, provided a ton of tips and suggestions, and even walked the items to my car. Thanks to Good Grains my meal planning is going to be so much easier to stick with now that I don't have to shop or cook!! I highly recommend Good Grains, in a world of processed fatty foods, this place is refreshing for the soul and good for it as well! Such a pleasure meeting Karen and I look forward to more trips here and incorporating Good Grains into my meal routine and health improvement. Keep doing what you are doing Karen, we need more places like this and more...

This is honestly the best plant-based experience eye have ever had in the GTA!!! From the moment we walked into this gem, we were greeted and warmed with care. Karen gave us a quick rundown of the whole menu and gave us time to decide what we’d like. She kindly offered us a mix of the main dishes as it was our first time there, and had some great conversation with us throughout our meal. The food was absolutely soul-filling. Compared to so many other vegan spots, this place trumps them all simply because the food Karen prepares is a reflection of real, healthy, TASTY, unprocessed plant-based whole foods that make you feel lighter and brighter instead of heavy and tired. The food, the service, the energy of the place, and the genuine kindness of Karen makes Good Grains our favourite vegan restaurant to-date. So glad we stumbled across it!!! Thank you...

I found this place from a Google "healthy restaurant" search, it was close to where I was at that time. When I got there the owner (I believe) said there was a power outage and wasn't able to prepare all menu items. Which is totally understandable. I asked if the stew was ready and she said it may need a few more minutes. I said I was happy to wait. She proceeded to serve me the stew after a few minutes. It was definitely not ready. I would have appreciated if she asked me to wait longer or say unfortunately I can't serve you the stew at this time. Honesty comes a long way. Instead I got stuck with a soup that was not fully cooked. Edit: I did write the review in the restaurant. After I wrote it, she did check up on me and apologize. She seems like a really friendly restaurant owner and I do hope this was a one off situation.

Visited Good Grains today for the first time. Owner/operator Karen is friendly and welcoming, cooks everything available for purchase, and can any questions you may have. My wife and I took home the Harvest Stew and Golden Curry entrees for our lunches, along with a Creamy Mixed Vegetable Soup (jar), Chipotle Sweet Potato Bisque (frozen flat pack), and an Asian Magic Sauce for use in our own cooking. This is good food the way it should be cooked. I enjoyed the Harvest Stew while my wife had the Golden Curry, telling me a number of times, "this is soooo good!". I laughed when she said she was happy I'm not a curry fan because she didn't want to share! If you are looking for a place where you can get healthy and good tasting food, I recommend you check out Good Grains. And the convenience of frozen flat packs, brilliant!
